I started Happy at Home while I was working at an emergency veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician. I found myself giving my number out constantly to owners in case they had any questions about the treatment we were sending home with them. Even though we would have time to go over discharge instructions, it is a lot of information all at once. I got the idea that I could help people and animals by providing nursing care at home and becoming a mobile technician. I have been able to help out many people over the years and am now committing to my business full time. This means that your pet will have my complete attention wether we are giving medications, pet sitting, or dog walking. I love animals and will always treat them as if they were my own, and more importantly how you would want me to treat them while you are away.

Clients know me for great ease and affection for animals. Maybe it is my many years of experience (over 10 years in the Santa Fe area), or maybe just an innate and instinctual understanding of the animals and their needs. Both I believe. It certainly shows in my everyday interactions with them and makes me well-suited for the loving care that your pets deserve.

The home entrusted to my care equally receives conscientious, professional attention. This includes a respectful attitude toward it and a leave-no-trace ethic.

REASONABLE RATES AND POLICY FOR THE LEVEL OF SERVICE PROVIDED
Pet sitting services are $70/day for 1 or 2 pets.
Each additional dog is $10. Each additional cat is $5.
A 20mns daily dog walk is included. If needing more exercise, a charge of $10 per additional walk applies.
Discounts are given on a per-case basis for stays of over 2 weeks.
Our meet-and-greet appointment is free.
Once you have committed and I have reserved dates for you, 50% of the fee will be asked in the event of cancellation on your part.

The reason why I chose to be a pet provider is for many reasons which I will explain... First, all of my life I was raised with pets, had pets and they have always brought me joy. My fiancé and I are both entertainment artist and we get many offers to travel abroad . We used to have two Chihuahuas in our past and we used to travel with them all the time,especially overseas, but it was a lot of work and money when it came to filing documents for them. Eventually our little angels lived up to their life expectancy and we deeply decided it was best to remain pet-free, just temporary, for the sake of our careers. However, we do miss the love and care for a pet and that's why I (we) made the choice to be pet-sitters instead. Normally, I would have the pet be cared in my home but because of current living condition with a roommate who owns the house and has a pet, it is best not to have any other animals in the persist beside her own.

I work from home. So, this will reinsure that your pet will be supervise and cared for all day. I will also care for your home, like watering your plants, taking out the trash, bring in the mail, and cleaning up the place a bit. Anything you think is necessary for your home needs.

I have owned dogs and cats for most of my life. I am in college now, but am from Texas. I have 2 dogs and a horse back home, and 1 dog (6 month old 3 legged puppy) and 1 cat (3 year old) living with me here in Santa Fe. I love taking care of animals. I used to volunteer at a dog shelter back in Texas and now I volunteer at The Horse Shelter north of Santa Fe. I enjoy taking dogs on long walks and playing with them. Back in Texas I would take my 2 dogs on an hour long walk almost every day (they also have a large backyard to run around in), and here I take my puppy out on a 10-20 minute walk every day (she can't go on very long walks yet because she is still not 100% used to missing a leg and has to gain more strength). Both my pets are up to date on their shots and I will require your pets are as well so that there is no risk of passing anything on.
I am also very good at working with shy dogs. I gained a lot of experience working with skittish dogs at the animal shelter.

I'm new to Dog Vacay, but I have had my own dogs, or cared for other's (more of the latter) for much of my life. I had malamutes and a awesome lab mix, Lou, when I was younger. Lou and I adventured all over the country together for 11 years. He was a famous, well-loved 3-legged dog who was extremely active until his last year or so.

From then on, I lived in locations that weren't good for dogs, but I dog walked and dog sat for friends as well as for a dog walking sub for my friend who walked full-time. I have since adopted and fostered several labs, none of whom are with me now.

The common thread in my history with dogs is that they have all been big! The bigger the better to me! I miss having a big dog around. Meanwhile, I'm offering to care for your big guy or gal when you are away. I know how hard it is to find safe and reliable care. I have administered meds, cared for injuries, etc.
