I can do whatever the owner and pet requires, for each household this can be quite different. I am willing to provide care for your pet that you would normally do. This can be trips to the dog park, solo walk, walks with other pets, and even hikes in the mountains. I do it all! Working with pets who are disabled, aggressive/scared, or are injured/recovering post op are my specialty!

There are two types of walks I do. Bathroom walks are no less then 20 mins for small breeds and 30 to 40 mins for big breeds. I make sure they have done all their businesses first before heading back in the house.

Then their are Leisure walks I do for fun which is usually mid afternoon. I will walk your pet only around the neighborhood or a nearby park. If your pup is active, I like to do light skip-jogging just to get their heart rate up. Good old fun easy exercise.

For our safety, I will never dog walk with another person's dog(s). I prefer to walk the only amount of dog(s) the dog owner has together. I believe that time and payment should be only reserved to you and your pet(s) time.

I can walk multiple dogs at once. I can walk dogs who are good and bad on a leash. I like to walk at parks, just around the neighborhood, or on hiking trails. I am also happy to take to the dog park. I enjoy interacting with the dog I am walking. I like to play, throw the ball, and run with them.

The more active the better for me, as I like to hike and run on trails/dirt roads, etc., but I am happy to accommodate any activity level and have the patience and ability to assist older or special needs dogs. Multiple pets are not a problem provided all are well-behaved and accustomed to interaction. Location and duration is left to the discretion of the owner.

Private dog walks. Custom walks based on each clients needs. Can be 30, 45, or 60 minute walks, prices depend on length of walk. Dog park field trips are also available to the fully fenced dog park at the animal shelter. We do not typically let dogs off leash, until we have known for them for a long time, and know them to not run off/escape. We do not use retractable leashes, please provide a regular type dog leash.

At this canine vacation home, we are out in all weather, rain or shine! We frequent the trails around Santa Fe, on a daily basis, and our hikes range anywhere between 1 and 10 miles depending on your pup's fitness level. Water is carried en route at all times. As an avid outdoor person, I am very familiar with all the routes and their degree of difficulty.
Once the dogs get to know the routine, they cannot wait to hit the trail! Photo and text updates are sent to all owners while on the trail or resting at home.
I also frequent a shorter more docile route for the more mature dog. These walks are peaceful and slow, allowing your dog to sniff and enjoy the surroundings.
The 1 acre yard is open 24/7. It is fully fenced to 10ft, allowing for a safe and secure outdoor visit at anytime.
The house is fully tiled with comfortable seating areas throughout, and your pup is free to roam throughout the house.
I have trained many different breeds and ages over the years, including quirky behaviors, and have had much success. Dogs understand me and I understand them!
Each dog enjoys one on one time on a daily basis, whether it's a back rub, quiet time or playing with a toy. Your canine friend will receive 5 star treatment, while you, the owner are away for whatever reason.
Please contact me for a Meet and Greet at your convenience, you'll be glad you did!
(Please note that I am unable to take puppies under a year old)

I adore animals, they respond to a loving, trusting environment. Dogs, cats, birds, snakes, horses all animals know "their" person and, aside from their owner, I become that person for each animal.
I am not discouraged by weather and enjoy the outdoors.
Dog walking is therapeutic for both myself and the dog. They learn and respond to the level and sound of my voice and the commands I speak. The walk is always determined upon what the dog enjoys, I believe it is their walk, so they call the shots and sniff away!
All animals can count on me and trust me. They respond well because they know, I get it, with their schedule.
I have taken dogs to their groomer, vet, camping, and to the hot springs. I have administered medication and done the shopping at their favorite pet store. My husband and I also take the dogs on field trips, if requested or allowed.
I massage animals neck, legs, and back if they like it or need it.
The pampered pet and their owners can expect full service in my care!

*Standard day care hours are 8 hrs@$20.00 per day after 8 hours subject to additional fee.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Santa Fe

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Santa Fe, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Santa Fe. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
