About Kathryn

5 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
My husband, Mike & I love animals. I grew up with all kinds of animals; chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, guinea pigs, dogs & cats, raising & caring for them both during good & poor health. Mike grew up with his dogs & have raised chickens, He used to have a natural forestry at the back of his house in Puerto Rico, Now we live in Puyallup & we both work from home so we are home practically all day. Yet we try to stay active, eat Organic & live an active & healthy lifestyle. Mike is a Marathoner, long distance Cyclist & love to work out at the gym not so much for me. However, I am a swimmer & loves all kinds of outdoor activities. We love walking our puppy to keep him fit & active. We want to keep our pets healthy by giving them a balance & healthy diet. We feed Atom, our 8-month old puppy Schnauzer & our Senior Female Tabby cat dry food 'BLUE' top of the line & one of the best pet food out there. I also feed Atom mixed fresh vegs, rice with chicken (3x weekly), a small cup of milk & finish with some fruits like apple/bananas daily. We do not feed our pets scraps or left overs. We take Atom 2x active walks daily as he is a puppy with lots of energy. We used to take leisure walks with our very Senior lady dog, Cana, who passed away last year. SAD! ;-( After passing of Cana, we got Atom. As a puppy, Atom loves to play, run & is very active & rambunctious. He likes us to play with him & loves 'throw & fetch' since we have a long lawn backyard. 'hide & seek', 'go & find' his toys in the house. Atom is extremely smart & also obedient as he has completed & graduated from his puppy 101 Obedience Class. Soon we will enroll him for his Intermediate Class. So proud of him!; -) Just as much as we love our pets & spoil them to pieces, rest assured yours too. Your pets are save with us & will be well cared for.

This was our first visit with Kathryn and Mike so I do want to give them the benefit of the doubt. We had a good first impression at a meet and greet so we left Manny with them for an overnight stay days later. I believe in sharing my experiences so we left Manny with them for an overnight stay days later. I believe in sharing my experiences to help others make an informed decision when leaving their family pet with a stranger. There is both good and not so good to report. First, my sweet Pug who is precious to us got a lot of exercise with their dog Atom and we received many videos and pics which I loved. So much so, I gave a $10 tip. Later, when we got home, I noticed follow through on his feeding instructions was not followed as the can had not been opened when I picked him up. However, his other food that we "mix in" was all gone so I know he did eat. Like many dogs, we often have them on a feeding regimen that works for them and like to stay consistent. Being a short stay, not a big deal. Later, I inquired on whether or not she offered an extended discounted rate through Dogvacay. Her reply was asking me for my personal email address as she preferred I book through her personally as she didn't like that Dogvacay took a percentage of her rate and didn't pay her until days later. This is even after I had given her $10 extra on top of a $40/night rate. I prefer a loving and compassionate animal lover that has my pets best interest in mind not theirs. I sincerely hope this helps anyone searching for the perfect pet sitter and helps this sitter improve.
