15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs

If only you could spoil your kids this much...your pups can stay where they're most comfortable...home!

I am an animal LOVER, as I'm sure most of us on here are! Having a fur baby of my own - who is my WORLD - I know what it's like to want to make sure your pup is being taken care of while you're away.

I am a young professional who grew up in the Northern Virginia area before going to school at Old Dominion University where I earned a Bachelor in Professional Writing & Document Design, a Bachelor in Public Relations & Corporate Communication, and a Master in Public Administration.

In addition to being a long-time animal owner and care-taker of 10+ years, I have volunteered with HART, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, Homeward Trails, Reach Out and Rescue Resources, Fancy Cats, and a few more local rescues. I adopted my own pup from the SPCA.

Having done this so long, I do not require a meet and greet to book a stay. I've found that you never really know how a dog will truly act in your home until their actual visit when mom and dad aren't around and I've never come across anything totally bizarre or atypical that I haven't seen before or that I haven't been able to handle. It's also hard to remember everything we talked about in our meeting and keeping one lab or beagle straight with another (even with regular clients) so I rely heavily on written instructions you bring with you at drop-off. Please do, however, notify me if your dog has any aggression issues so that my own dog is safe and so that I can avoid overlapping a booking with another client.

That being said, I am happy to schedule one out of courtesy to my clients so that they can see where their pup will be staying.

I am the constant, responsible, reliable sitter you've been looking for. Whatever your or your pet's needs are, I will do my best to accommodate them. I even have some helpful tools of the trade including calming and tracking collars, plenty of extra toys, dog beds, and bowls and more so that you don't have to worry about bringing anything but food, care instructions, and your pup! I take my job very seriously and have only ever had to make an emergency cancellation ONCE in my entire 10-year history of sitting - and even then made alternate arrangements with a friend on their behalf.

PLEASE NOTE: I do charge by day as opposed to night as well as additional fees for busy holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc). DogVacay provides your quote from a sitters base fee but does not account for all pay structures. While I do my best to stick to this quote as closely as possible, final quotes are subject to change based on factors such as drop off and pick up times. Please indicate the approximate time you plan to drop off and pick up and keep in mind that huge changes to those times are subject to additional fees.

My smoke-free, dog-loving home offers your pup a welcoming environment to stay in while you're away! The back yard is fully encased by a 6 foot wooden privacy fence so your pup will always have a place to play and run around outdoors leash-free!

I live on a cul-de-sac in a very pet friendly, quiet neighborhood. There's not a lot of traffic on my street so walks are always a pleasant experience even for the most timid of pups.

I created this video walk through at an old residence I used to live in so it's not my current place and I've updated some of the furnishings (i.e. I now have a couch instead of futons for example) so a lot has changed and I haven't had a chance to update it. But you may be interested in watching it anyway to get an idea of where your pup would be staying! :)

Gromit is a very sweet-natured dog who loves other pups, though by enlarge, he's very much a beta dog (and can be on the shy side) which makes him the perfect companion for the more timid of fur babies. Every once in a while if a dog is very excited or hyper he'll let out a little 'leave me alone' growl but wouldn't harm a fly and typically gets over it very quickly.

He ignores cats, but likes to romp around with his puppy pals.

He is always up to date on all shots and preventative care.

Yes, and I have done so in the past including pills, eye-drops, shots, and creams.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to working with you!
