I know what it's like trying to find someone trustworthy of caring for your fur-babies while you're away. I'm someone you can trust your baby(ies) will love.
I live in a multi-level townhouse, so please advise if your pup has any trouble up and down stairs. Getting their nails trimmed prior to the stay is recommended for their comfort as I've got a lot of laminate and tile flooring. Also at this house is my lazy 6.5lb senior cat. Sometimes, two 9yo cats are here too, so let me know if your baby would have an issue.
I have a dog blanket here, but it might bring your dog some comfort to have a bed of their own brought over during their stay. So, I ask that you please bring:
--- doggie bed
--- poop bags (biodegradable is better for the environment!)
--- favorite toys
For some dogs that tend not to eat when they're away from their home, bringing over some canned wet food is recommended as it entices dogs to eat their food. I will mix a bit of the wet food into the dry. Aside from small reward treats, I highly recommend the beef knee caps and Yak Chews, available at any major pet supply retailer. These help keep your pup's teeth clean, but isn't terrible on their stomachs like rawhide. I've compiled a collection of some recommendations I've found useful: bit.ly/aubreyspets. As I test out more items, I will add to the list.
Multiple dogs from the same family and long stays are no problem with me at all! Contact me for more info on a multiple pet discount from the same family.
Though I can take up to three dogs at one time, DV.com will mark my calendar as still having an open spot up until the three dog limit is met. I don't think that's fair to you or your pup... Your pup will already be in an unfamiliar home; the added stress of a stranger dog is unnecessary on him/her. When a booking is made, I will mark myself as unavailable on this site. I update the calendar regularly.
Overnight boarding is counted as 24hrs and daycare is counted as 12hrs. I'll give a little bit of time beyond that for coordinating pick up. For example, if you have trip for work and will need to drop off your pup at 7am on Monday to catch a plane, but won't be able to pick him/her up until on Tuesday night at 9p, let's do this: Book an overnight stay for the Monday and then daycare for the Tuesday. If you have any questions, please message me.
To get an idea of mileage radius I'll travel, you can enter in PetSmart's address: 185 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125. I'm willing to travel beyond the max distance noted on my profile here for check-ins and walking for pups I've previously sat for / visited at a small additional travel rate (basically just covers the fuel cost). Send me a check-in request through here and I'll respond with a "custom quote" so we can bypass the mileage restriction.
Whether boarding at my house or home visits: Please advise of any dietary restrictions, injuries, behaviors of the dog (leashed at all times or off-leash, anxiety, shyness, high energy, aggression toward other dogs/people/cats, etc), special commands, on the couch okay or not okay, etc. Please also let me know of the times of day you feed your pup.
I'm currently not scheduling any "Meet-N-Greets." Repeated no-shows have left me discouraged recently. You can trust that everything I've written here is correct and true about my DogVacay services. I will pamper your pup when he/she/they are in my care.
I like to update pet parents with photos through the app. Because, let's face it, your pup WILL do something incredibly cute and you shouldn't miss it!
