About Rachel

Howdy! Thanks for visiting my profile.

If you're looking for an place that feels like home for your dog , than you've found the right place.

If you're looking for someone who is patient with your pooch, who will spoil 'em while also making sure to reinforce your rules, then you've found the right person.

If you were your hoping to find all of these things without paying an arm and a leg for it, you're in luck!

Hi, I'm Rachel. I live in Potrero Hill, where I was transplanted there from Lilburn Georgia. For many years I have been a huge animal lover, and animal care giver, and animal activist. I started my professional pet care career when I was about 10 years old by going around our neighborhood with my older brother to hang flyers for our pet care / lawn mowing services (My brother took care of the lawn mowing side of the business). My household always had some sort of critter, and dowgs were a big part of our home. I couldn't image not having them in my life. That was until I moved to California and learned about things like doggie rent, and the price of a one bedroom apartment. It seems that everything in California is three times the price of things in Georgia, including dog ownership. So... no dogs for me. There were times that I missed my pets so much that I thought I might go through animal withdraws. That's when I started volunteering at the animal shelter. But volunteering at a shelter can be ruff. So many dogs, and so little homes. This was both sad and frustrating. I knew that if owning a dog were a little less expensive and a little more flexible, more people would adopt pets from the shelter. This is why I love dog vacay! It helps do just that.

With dog vacay, I can offer the same quality care I was giving to other boarding businesses, but for half the price! Yippi! Dog ownership is on its way to becoming more affordable! And it's great for everyone, Because I get to experience the joys of dog ownership without all the expenses. And you get to have a little more flexibility in your life, with peace of mind in knowing your dog is well taken care of- all without paying an arm in a leg for it! It's a win win situation. I'm so happy to be part of this new wave of pet care. I hope you are too ;)

Thanks again for visiting, and happy hunting!

Rachel is friendly and welcoming for both people and pets! Our dog is a rescue, so he has a few anxiety and aggression issues. She listened really carefully to our concerns and asked lots of questions before we left our dog with her, and she was very accommodating and patient with him during his stay, making sure he got the attention and type of care he needs. She was very responsive to messages as well as accommodating with our schedules for pickups and dropoffs. Thank you, Rachel! We will definitely be sending Buster to spend more time with her in the future!
