I'm an experienced dog sitter with lots of space, including a large fenced back yard. My dogs go in and out as much as they desire and the weather allows, but are never left outside if I am not at home to check in on them. In addition, my neighborhood is a great place to take a dog for a walk or a run, both of which I do regularly with my own dogs. I also live close to longer running trails and a great dog park, so if your dog loves to run or play at the park, just let me know and I can arrange activities during his or her stay.
About Rachael Z.:
I'm a responsible dog lover with experience managing someone else's Doggie Daycare and having in-home guests. I am not a kennel and prefer to limit the number of dogs in my home at any given time so that all guests can have the "home away from home" experience. I have some fantastic regular customers who are like family, and the number of dogs at any given time will reflect the comfort level of all the dogs and people involved.
How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.
I have had dogs since I was born. My current two are miniature schnauzers, but I grew up with a giant. One of my schnauzers is a certified service animal. The other is pure whackadoodle! I managed a Doggie Daycare in the past but prefer to have only a few dogs in my home for the comfort of my pets and yours!
What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?
Dogs must be spayed/neutered, have current rabies, and be friendly with other dogs. No breed restrictions, as long as your dog is healthy and friendly!
Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?
Yes! I use Central Kentucky Veterinary Service in Georgetown, KY - 6 miles from my house. They offer 24 hour emergency service.
Are you comfortable administering medication?
Yes: oral, IM, SQ.
How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?
While s/he is here, your dog is a part of my family.
If you have a backyard, please describe it.
Large, fully fenced (6 feet).
Where will my dog sleep?
Depending on your preferences and your dog's preferences, your dog will either sleep in my bedroom or in a dog area in the kitchen. It is recommended that you provide a crate in case your dog wants a little "alone time".
Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.
I have a large, fully fenced backyard. If your dog likes to run, s/he may be invited to run with me on the Legacy Trail or around my neighborhood.
