Hello! My name is Andrea and my roommate, Shannagh, and I are currently sharing a nice little apartment in the East Village. We've been dog-sitting for people who live around our neighbourhood for about 4 months now and have fallen in love with the job so we figured we'd like to expand our customer base! I grew up caring for a pug that was given to me on my 4th birthday - she was a huge part of my life and the primary reason why leaving Houston to move to NYC for college was so daunting! When she passed away this past summer, I turned to dog-sitting back home to keep myself busy but I ended up realizing how much I love all dogs and brought my business over to the city!
Our apartment is great for dogs because it has a fenced patio where I can let them roam free if they don't feel like going on a long walk, the walk up hasn't been a problem because I live on the 3rd floor, and we have a big comfortable couch that they're free to lounge on. As I mentioned before, I am a student so the way I normally break up my time whilst I'm dog-sitting is I take them out on an early morning walk, go to class, head back at around noon to take them out again, attend my afternoon classes, and take them to Thompkin's Square Dog Park in the evening (please let me know if your dog is not a fan of dog parks).
My roommate and I are always making sure we give the dogs we're hosting as much love and attention as possible and make it a priority to treat them like if they were our own!
