About Katie

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Though I don't have a dog myself (yet!), I crave woofie love, and seek out my fix whenever possible! I live in an adorable little house just a block away from a lovely dog-friendly park. I have a fenced yard that is good for fetching, though I usually prefer to take the dogs I watch out on adventures - out to Forest Park or Mt Tabor - for hiking and picnicking.

I've been dog-sitting and house-sitting ever since I moved to Portland, 10 years ago, and have experience with many breeds (big and small, young and old) as well as cats, birds, chickens, and goats.

I work part time making hats at a small boutique in town, generally Wednesdays through Saturdays. If your pup requires special attention on those days, I am happy to adjust days with advance notice, so I can spend the most time with your loved one!

Katie rescued us for a last minute booking and was very accommodating!
My pup had a wonderful time with Katie. He was relaxed and happy when I picked him up and slept well for the next two days-- awesome. A huge thank you to Katie for working with me on pickup times and the last minute booking. My pup can't wait to visit again.

This was my first time leaving Poppy with a dogvacay host, and Katie was all I could have asked for. Poppy can be a shy and sensitive pup, but Katie handled her with ease. When I picked Poppy up after a weekend away she was calm and clean! Would definitely recommend Katie, and hope to use her services again in the future!

Katie is amazing! We have one difficult dog (he takes a while to get used to people), and Katie was a champ! She was afraid of him and was willing to work with us when most people would just turn and walk away. I will definitely be using Katie again in the future!

Katie was really friendly when we met during the meet and greet, and my dog took to her very quickly. He is a young Chihuahua beagle mix, so very high energy and a little high maintenance at times. This was our first time using dog vacay, and I was so happy to see that my dog after 5 days wasn't hoarse and boney like he is when he stays at a kennel, his stay with Katie seemed to be much less stress for him and we will use her again!

Katie is GREAT! She stayed at my house and watched my elderly Pug for 4 days. He was having some health issues and she gave him all of his medication - no problem. She also made us COOKIES for when we got back! Yes to cookies!
I highly recommend Katie!

Katie was so great. She came to our home and stayed with our 2 dogs and 1 cat for a weekend. We were totally comfortable with her and upon return our dogs seemed very relaxed and happy. Will definitely use her again in the future!
Our dog has separation anxiety and trembles in fear when we take him to a conventional dog day care, but when we arrived at Katie's house to drop him off, he bounded in to her living room, tearing the leash out of my hands. We're absolutely thrilled to find someone with such great rapport with our pooch right here in our neighborhood.

Katie is extremely responsive -- I think she's answered every e-mail I've sent her in less than 10 minutes. She also has a great rapport with our dog from the first time they met, and has been great about understanding his physical limits (he recently had surgery and his activity is restricted for a few months).
