About Krysten

30 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
THIS GIRL!

Hi, I'm Krysten! I have lived with dogs for all of my younger life worked with dogs for most of my adult life. I have worked as a veterinary assistant, was previously a manager at a dog daycare and will soon start training as a dog behaviorist, but somehow spending 8 hours a day with dogs is never enough for me! I love dogs more than anything in the world and am a self-proclaimed expert in bark identification :) I have never come across a situation I could not handle or a dog with whom I could not connect. It saddens me to say that at the moment I do not have a dog of my own because I live in a small apartment and do not have a yard. That is why I would love to have the chance to spoil your dog as if it were my own! Also, I have another job only 2-3 evenings a week so I have the rest of the time to devote to caring for your little rascal!

If you would like me to pet-sit for you (yay!), there are a few things I want to be open and honest about:
-it is important to note that I only pet-sit in the Portland area as I mainly get around on my bike, although I do have a car for when the situation calls for it.
-the $36/night is the price for one dog, but I offer a 50% discount for additional dogs. If you have more than one dog simply send me a reservation request and I will reply with a custom quote with your discounted price!
-I love cats, birds, rabbits, goats, and all other furry creatures you may have and will happily care for them for a small extra fee.

Thank you so much for reading my blurb!

We always love having Krysten stay with our pups. She's easy to work with, she gives us updates, and they love her. We feel totally comfortable having her stay in our home while we're away.
Krysten did a wonderful job taking care of Molly. She kept me up-to-date on their activities and shared pictures. My house was very clean when I returned. I highly recommend her.
Krysten took great care of our dogs while we were on vacation and kept us in the loop as to how they were doing with pictures and texts throughout our trip. She is very kind, loves animals and will take care of yours as if they were her own! Our dogs are very fearful of strangers and she learned their habits respected their boundaries and gave them great care. Honestly we thought we would never be able to leave town as no one could handle our dogs and she made the impossible, possible.

We were fortunate to have Krysten stay in our home with our dog, Olive for 10 days. After meeting Krysten we were confident that Olive would be well cared for and that our home would be in good hands. And we were not disappointed. We received updates (with photos) during our vacation that assured us all was well. We arrived home to a happy dog and spotless house. Later, when Krysten stopped by for a visit, Olive was so happy to see her! We wouldn't hesitate to have Krysten back - in fact we are already planning our next trip.

Krysten was amazing! My husband and I got the opportunity to go abroad for 11 days this past September, but being new to town, we had nobody to Betty-sit for us! This predicament led us to this website, and this website brought us to some wonderful, dog-loving, people- such as, Krysten (and her husband, too!). She stayed at our place so that Betty would feel less uprooted by one of our first long-ish absences in her still young life, and they treated her like she was part of their family (even came by one time afterward just to say hi to her!), all of which allowed us to more fully enjoy our impromptu honey moon, and we cannot thank them enough, nor rate them highly enough! I would wake up every morning to a picture of my sweet Betty smiling at the camera, and it made being away so much less hard for us! Much thanks, you two!

Krysten has watched our dog Lucy multiple times, and just helped us out with our new adopted dog, Scout. Our new dog is very apprehensive of new people, but Krysten was so patient with him, and he opened up to her so much faster than expected! She sends us text updates and photos while we're gone. It's always such a relief to know she's hanging out with our dogs while we're away. Highly recommended; she's definitely our go-to person.

Our pups had a great time again with Krysten! They were totally happy and content when we got home. She also went above and beyond to help us make sure they got walked and fed on our travel days, before she really had to. We are so happy we found her.

Krysten was the perfect dog sitter for our pups! She stayed in our place, which we needed, since our dogs tend to get a little anxious in new spaces, especially after our recent cross-country move. She came over and met them a few times before we left town, so they knew her; they seemed totally happy and content when we got home today. She also texted us updates over the weekend and was sweet enough to change our sheets for our return! We will definitely use her again!

Wow! We loved Krysten and so did our pups! We were gone for 1 1/2 weeks and there's no doubt that our 2 dogs were well taken care of. Krysten kept in great communication with us, including picture updates! It's clear that she spent a great deal of time with them and gave them ample exercise and affection.

Just prior to leaving, we found out that 1 of our dogs needed to be on medication and Krysten was great about giving it to him.

We came home to a sparkling clean house (above and beyond the call of duty in our mind) and 2 happy pups.

We couldn't have asked for a more smooth experience from start to finish.

Thanks Krysten!

Krysten was a perfect sitter for our two dogs. We felt completely secure with her staying at our house. We came home to two very happy dogs.
This is the second time Krysten has stayed at our home while we were away. I cannot thank her enough for all the care and love she gave our sweet labradoodle while we were gone. I received daily pictures of his smiling face and came home to an immaculately clean home.

We highly recommend Krysten! She stayed in our apartment while we were out of town for the weekend. She was so friendly and good with our small dog, Lucy. I loved getting pictures throughout the day of our dog out and about. Lucy always looked so happy. We came home to a clean apartment and a tired dog. Not much more you can ask for. We will definitely contact her again in the future.

We were a little anxious to leave our home and animals with someone new for a whole 2 weeks but we had no reason to worry! Krysten was fabulous and took very good care of everything, staying in regular touch with us and sending pictures. We came home to a house that was cleaner than after our housekeeper has been here! We recommend Krysten very highly and will definitely use her again in the future.

I am so happy Krysten is now in our lives! Krysten was an incredibly tidy house guest who was ever so present with our high energy one year old labradoodle. Not only do she take him to the park, she took him to the park 2 times in one day. We can't thank her enough!

Krysten took phenomenal care of my dog and treated him as if he were are part of her own family. My dog had an ear infection during the stay and thankfully Krysten works in animal care, which made me feel comfortable about having her administer ear medication.

In addition to the great care my dog received, Krysten gave me a lot of updates on his stay with her including photos. My dog came home very happy and tired because Krysten did such a great job of keeping him busy and exercised, which is a must with him.

I'll definitely be using Krysten's services again! Highly recommended!
