I have had dogs all of my life and have been the primary caregiver for all of them. My current dog, a Pomeranian, has pulmonary hypertension and must receive four different kinds of medicine twice a day everyday. I am her primary caregiver. I feed her twice a day, once in the am and once in the pm. She also receives treats (dog cookies) a couple of times a day. She goes on walks with me all the time and is doing well and thriving.
In the past, I have had several other dogs that I adopted from a shelter that were of varying ages. I cared for them consistently until their old age. They were all big dogs and were kept comfortable and ate the best food.
Each and every dog was special to me and they lived for about 15-16 years on average. I have a very large fenced back yard for dogs and lots of dog toys. I only ask that if your dog has a tendency to bite, I cannot accept the dog in my home/yard.
