Hi! We are a family looking to host your pup and give them all the love and action a doggy could want. We've always wanted a family dog, but due to living in small apartments (now we have a town-home), work commitments, and sports activities; a dog wouldn't get the proper attention during the week.
The compromise is hosting dogs on the weekends!! and loving on them!! and playing with them!! and really just hanging out and having fun. (Basically we want to live the life of grandparents, spoil the kiddos rotten and send them home!)
We had a scotty, Wallace, for 8 years before he crossed the rainbow bridge back in 2006. Before that I had experience growing up with my best friend, a sheltie named Baxter. We do currently have a maincoon kitty, Vivian, and every dog she's encountered has been a good experience. She loves my parents shih zu Emmie, they are bed buds.
We have a two story, with a baby gate.
We are natural early risers.
Every weekend we are active, even in the winter we like to get out for a while and experience nature.
While we don't have a fenced in area, we have plenty of grass to walk, sniff, and poo- on the leash.
My daughters are 5 and 10, both love all animals. They understand dog body language, they are extremely respectful of a dogs space, and when in public, they ask and thank the owners before petting the pups.
I'm mostly comfortable with either up to 3 small dogs, or 2 medium sized dogs.
I've nursed dogs and cats through surgeries, broken bones, thyroid disease, and cancer. I am very comfortable giving oral medications.
