I have a 30lb border collie mix, Jade, who is very well socialized, up to date on her shots, and given flea/tick prevention regularly. She would love to have a buddy while you are out of town! Jade gets along with all dogs. She may bark at your pup at the beginning if they are young and energetic to let them know she needs her space. Once they get to know each other she will be running around showing all of her toys off to them! My husband, Andy, and I live in a 3 bedroom duplex with a fenced in back yard in a nice south Clintonville neighborhood. With our combined schedules we are only away from the house 2-4 hours a day. We enjoy going to city and state parks in the area to hike! Jade and her friends also love to go to Wheeler and the Scioto Audubon dog parks a few times each week. About this sitter: I have years of experience watching pets including dogs, cats, birds, & horses. I'm a recent graduate of Ohio State University, working as the Aviary Manager of Hartman Aviary. I love animals, can't get enough of them! I grew up on a horse farm caring for horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. I work at Hartman Aviary, caring for pet parrots. I have a dog of my own and have watched many dogs of friends and family. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs my entire life. My first three dogs growing up were Dobermans (we called them Doberwomen since they were all ladies), next was Pepper the Dalmation, followed by Belle the Bloodhound, Sheba the Doberwomen, and finally Jade, my rescued border collie mix! My favorite activity to do with my dogs is go hiking. It wears them out, and allows me to build a strong positive relationship with them. I have stayed at several homes watching dogs, watched numerous dogs at my own house, and have a ton of experience walking new dogs. I like to build a lasting relationship with the dog from the day I meet it so he or she looks forward to seeing me next! Meet my pets Patches the cat. He is cool with dogs, and will find hiding place if necessary:) About my yard I do have a decent sized fenced in back yard. The yard is flat, and has a wire fence. Visiting pets are not left unattended in the back yard. My experience administering medication I have vast experience administering topical, subcutaneous, and oral medication to animals: dogs, cats, birds, and horses. I have cared for several senior dogs and those recovering from recent injury who receive daily meds. It is important to me that pets still receive the level of care they would receive from their parents when they are out of town.
