About Holly

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi. I'm a licensed massage therapist and Reiki Master Teacher who loves dogs (especially large breeds!) but have none of my own. Living in Center City hasn't fit my lifestyle to make a full-time commitment to a dog, so pet sitting is a great way for me to experience the joy of animal companionship.

I prefer to keep one dog at a time and enjoy large breeds. My setup is ideal for dogs who like people, but aren't compatible with other dogs. Since I have a small outdoor space, it is possible to keep a dog without lots of city walks; although I like walking my guests who aren't too much trouble on the sidewalks. There are dog parks around the city... I am closest to the one at 11th and Lombard... and I am fit and active (also a Certified Yoga Teacher), and am confident walking highly spirited dogs when necessary.

I'm always happy and excited to share massage and Reiki with my pet guests. It helps them relax, creates trust between us, and feels great! For an additional fee I love teaching owners how to confidently massage their own dogs and cats. My son had pet rats growing up, and I used to massage them too! Of course I provide these services for humans as well, and offer a discount to DogVacay clients. Let's discuss if you are interested.

I have owned dogs and cats my entire life, and have lots of experience with leash and behavior training. My last three dogs were a semi-aggressive lab/pit bull mix, a chow/shepherd mix, and a great pyrenees mix. All were over 65 pounds. I'm not intimidated by big bully breeds!

I do live in a small building and care about my neighbors, so cannot accommodate uncontrollable barking from my pet care clients, or marking/spraying in my home. If your pet has serious separation anxiety, please discuss with me before you book.

Holly was absolutely great--we got tons of updates during a weeklong trip away from our 6 month old golden. She was really responsive to the whole family including my kids. Our golden clearly developed a wonderful relationship with her and he got plenty of exercise and cuddles. We would absolutely book her again.

Holly watched my dog Teddy for a little over 2 weeks while I was on vacation in another country. She sent me frequent updates and photos about their adventures and how things were going. I think Teddy had a very good time and was liked by everyone he interacted with. I think I picked the right host and would definitely book with her again. I highly recommend Holly, especially if one lives in the city. Everything is close and there are lots of other doggies around for friends. 5 stars from me!

Holly did an amazing job taking care of Colt. He got plenty of exercise with several long walks each day! I will certainly reach out to Holly the next time I need a place for Colt to stay.
Holly took great care of my doddle. She took him to the dog park everyday and would send me pics and texts to keep me updated. Excellent experience!!!
Holly is amazing! Super responsive and very professional. She took great care of my golden retriever on short notice when I had to work several overnight shifts. So lucky I found her.
