My name is Megan, and I'm a 25 year old veterinary student doing what I love to help pay for my education. I have volunteered and been on the board for humane societies and rescues for 7+ years as well as fostered for that same time period. I'm currently studying to be a veterinarian while I work full time within the veterinary field. I live with my boyfriend, also an avid animal lover, and since our work schedules tend to be very different, the amount of time that one of us is not home is limited. I've been a dog-sitter for many years and since moving to the city, I need new clients to help round out my life. I offer medical boarding of all types and have no issues administering medications or injections as necessary. My apartment building only allows pets up to 35 lbs, though I would love to spend time with your larger pets at your home while you're away if necessary. I am able to offer nail trims, anal gland expression, bathing, text message photo/video updates, appropriate length walks that suit the age and energy level of your pet, and an environment that will follow whatever rules your pet is used to at home. If they're used to being in bed at night, that's not a problem. If you prefer they be crated at night, also not a problem.
We live one block off of a wonderful park and beach, so that is where our daily walks will take us, though I do not let pets off leash no matter the circumstances.
I do have some resident pets. The first is a 10 year old malte-poo named Charlie. He's very good with other pets, though he does tend to be shy at first. The second is a recent rescue named Penny. She's still young and we are working through some issues that her previous life left her with. She is not yet sure of the appropriate manner to greet another dog on a leash, and she also struggles with stranger danger issues around new people. We are working with her on these things. Rest assured that in an apartment setting, she LOVES other dogs and can wear out even the most energetic of pups with her enthusiasm for play time.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or requests for meet and greets. I can't wait to meet your furry family member.
