About Catherine

35 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I commend you in being such a responsible pet owner as to find a proper home setting for your angel, rather then a large, cold kennel settings. Bravo. Our back yard has been called "Doggie Disneyland". There is an 8 foot solid wood fence with large old shade trees, with nice groomed lawn areas, a little hill, meandering path and lots of things to play around and smell and discover. There is a portable fence that can break the yard into two sections for play or for a double barrier system.

I truly love having your pet at my home. I think it is important for them to have full love and oodles of nurturing while you are away. Your pups need lots of extra reassurance, playing, supervision and little massages. Many times being told what a good dog they are.

The pups go in and out with me during the day and are usually right next to me. We throw the ball a lot and spend quality time together. I may have to run a quick errand here and there but then I separate them appropriately for that short time.
Otherwise your pet would stay with me, play, ride down to see grandma…

I am President of the Choir School Board and my husband is an Assistant Fire Chief in the Area. I also manage a couple of high end estates, and I do that from my home while I am with your loved ones. So, I am a very trusted citizen in many ways. I have had a full background check completed.

I have a double barrier system in place, in both the back yard and house. I don't leave dogs unattended in the yard. I don't leave dogs alone with unknown dogs… In other words, I take every precaution I can to ensure the safety of your pet.

I went to undergraduate vet school before receiving my MBA. I have pet sat for 35 years and have a long list of references for you. My best advertisers are the dogs. I repeatedly hear how they howl when they get close or drag their owners back up the stairs to get in the house again. So sweet of them…

I do add the reduced daycare rate on the last day for overnighters ($5 less a day). I don't like to try and keep to time frames of 24 hrs period. So, you can pick up and drop off at anytime of our choosing. Holiday rates are $10 higher per day. I don't accept many dogs over 50 pounds unless they are very special and gentle. I love Goldens, Boxers, Labs (calmer ones), border collies and aussies but should meet them first. Dogs over 40 pounds are $8 extra a day. Intact males are an extra $10 day ( I am VERY selective on ones to accept, if at all). All dogs are required to be current on all shots before requesting a booking. If you don't or aren't able to provide that, the fees are nonrefundable and your pet can not stay with me. Puppy rate is $10 day higher(2 or under- but we can talk about that). It is at my discretion to have more pets here depending on their size, check in and pick up times and if they are from the same household. You will have to trust my judgement on this.

I am looking forward to seeing you and your pet.
All dogs must be current on a vet issued flea medicine (since they can sleep in bed with me….HOORAY and no one wants fleas), be current on rabies shots and other required vaccinations and be NON Aggressive. I will not pet sit any dogs that have a history of biting other dogs or people. This is to protect all of us. See You Soon…again, thanks for finding a safe home place for your pets while you're away.

Excellent host! My dog loves it there, no stress, he is always happy when he comes home after his vacay!
Catherine graciously accepted to take our 12 month old puppy for the long holiday weekend. She ended up having to do a lot of training. Our puppy enjoyed staying with her and playing with her dogs and puppy. Catherine was great with dog training tips and suggestions. We'll definitely go back. :)

Catherine was wonderful with our girls! She was able to take them on short notice when we arrived from out of state to visit a sick relative. She was knowledgeable and helped make a stressful time for the girls, as well as us, much easier. We'd definitely recommend her!

This is the 2nd time Dasher has stayed with Catherine, and, as before, he was very well cared for, and I was kept very well informed. Catherine dealt with Dasher's issues with grace, and even showed me how to remove the plaque from his teeth when I came to pick him up.

Catherine kindly accepted my not yet house trained puppy, Mo. By the time we arrived at her house, Mo had vomited and stood in it. Catherine did not blink an eye. Throughout the day, she sent great photos and videos and it was clear to see that Mo was having fun playing with the other pups. When I picked Mo up, we talked about his training and Catherine had helpful suggestions. I will gladly leave Mo with her again.

First time boarding my dog. Catherine was so welcoming and her messages were very helpful. Very secure house! She also sends pictures and videos. It puts my heart at ease. I love her! She's great!
Catherine accommodated Frodo very last minute (day of!) for daycare while we did a Sonoma flight tour. She was very communicative and sent lots of photo updates (which I love!). She had one visitor already and a dog of her own, both of which were pretty friendly and got along well with Frodo. There were also some puppies of her dog's that were really cute!

There was an air-conditioned interior (essential in the summer) and a fenced-in backyard. Frodo was relaxed as soon as we arrived, which I thought was a good sign, and happy leaving also. Catherine observed his dietary restrictions.

Overall I'd highly recommend Catherine to anyone looking for a dogsitter!

Loved Catherine! She was able to accommodate us last minute and work amazingly with our schedule. Sent us lots of updates and kept me totally at ease the whole time!
Catherine was wonderful! She arranged for a meet and greet prior to my Vacay time, and my two dogs met hers - she made me feel really comfortable and assured me that my dogs would be happy and safe - and they truly were. I received daily updates and videos, and when I had a few questions she was always prompt in her replies. Thank you Catherine!

Catherine D took excellent care of our dog. Sqiurt played in the secure backyard and played with the dogs. I would highly recommend Catherine D dog service.
Catherine was amazing! She was extremely knowledgable and very organized. She sent updates throughout the day and we felt very comfortable leaving our dog with her. Unfortunately we were just passing through wine country otherwise we would use her services on a regular basis. Highly recommend!

Cathrin was a wonderful find!

I had planned a month vacation and my sitter cancelled on me at the last minute and she was able to take my dog for the entire time! I am so glad I found her.

She was loving and caring and very sweet. She sent many texts, photos and videos, at my request, to keep me posted on my little guy. She also gave him his meds, shots, and baths for no additional charge! He became part of her family and got kisses, tummy rubs, and lots of play time and lap time!

She devotes her day to her charges and really enjoys their company. He was very well cared for and got lots of love and attention. I will use her again and highly recommend her to everyone who loves their dogs!

She is the best!!!

Catherine offered us a worry free day away from our two doggies. She was organized, thoughtful and friendly to us and the doggies. Thank you, Catherine.
Great host! Very responsive and caring.
Catherine was a wonderful sitter. She communicated very well with me regarding how she would handle my skittish boy and he came home happy and tired from a day of fun. Would definitely use her services again.
My dog loved it! He came home very happy.
Catherine is very vigilant with her charges and I felt very comfortable leaving Lily with her. She's careful to introduce the pups slowly, oversees their interaction to be sure there are no mishaps and clearly loves the pups in her care. We are really happy to have found her!

We were new to Dog Vacay so a bit unsure about leaving our "baby" with someone new. Our fears were allayed from the first time we spoke with Catherine before our trip.
Once we delivered our dog to Catherine's, we were very impressed with the way she introduced new dogs into her home and to other dogs there. She has had many years' experience caring for others' dogs. From the time we left our dog with her we were kept informed of her activities, etc. with both text messages and photos. Such a relief knowing how she was getting along...not only just getting along but settling into Catherine's human and dog family and having a great time.
We recommend Catherine very highly and without reservation.

We have a somewhat challenging pup and Catherine handled her gracefully and communicated openly about what was going on the whole time. Really appreciated the help and care she took to show us her backyard and home and the safety precautions she took for the pups. She was also very smart about introducing the other pups in small groups so no one got overwhelmed. She was a pro!
