I love small dogs. I used to have my own dog in Ecuador (that is where I am from) but now that I live here in NY, I miss him. I have babysitted my friends and neighbor's dogs often and it is really sad when they have to go home. On the weekends and specially the summer I like to go for walks or to the park and it would be really nice to have a little companion. I definitely want to take care only of one pet at the time and small sizes because are easier. My apartment has white carpets so a potty trained dog would be better.
