About Heather

We pay attention to all the little details, so your dogs are safe, happy and healthy.

1. LOVE + ATTENTION
We treat our dog guests like family. They can get on the furniture and sleep in our bed.

2. WALKS
Three+ walks a day. Lots of green space all around to keep your dogs exercised and mentally stimulated. During the week, walks are 30 minutes at 8am, another 30 minutes at 5pm and 15 minutes at 11pm. Weekends would include an additional 15 minute walk at lunch as well as trips to the dog park if pet-parent approved.

3. FOOD
We're happy to handle custom requests for your pet's food. We understand that some dogs are finicky or have special diets.

4. SAFETY
Clutter-free home. We keep all purses, trash, and anything dangerous at all, covered or up and out of reach. For jumpers or chewers, just let us know, and we'll make special arrangements.

3. PARKS + OUTINGS
There are tons of parks around us. For weekend visits, trips to dog parks and dog beaches upon request. Nothing off leash unless it's a completely gated area.

5. ACCIDENTS HAPPEN
Laminate hardwood floors in almost the entire apartment with the exception of the bedroom which would be kept closed during the day. So it's not the end of the world if an accident happens.

6. EMERGENCIES
We're excellent in emergency situations and have nearby 24-hour emergency vets if needed.

7. SPECIAL NEEDS
We have experience with our own special needs dogs. We are happy to give pills and injections, check breathing rates, etc. It's so hard to find someone you trust to take care of dogs with health problems. We will give the utmost attention to ensure they remain healthy.

My husband Alex and I take care of our dog guests in our apartment. However, we work outside of the home during business hours, four days a week. Because of this, we do request that drop offs be in the evening after 5:30pm. We can make exceptions on Tuesdays as well as the weekends.

We are a childfree home but have one very low-key, friendly 10-year old dog named Cali. Please note, we do occasionally foster dogs as well. We'll let you know if there will be an additional foster in our home.

Once again Heather took wonderful care of our dog,Chelsea, sending photos and updates of her while we were away. She communicated how Chelsea was doing so we were able to make sure that she was a happy camper! I'm so happy to have found such a caring and conscientious caretaker that takes the worry out of leaving our dog while on vacation. Heather and her husband Alex go above and beyond and Chelsea even gets to enjoy a playmate, their adorable dog, Cali, when she stays with them. Thank you!!!

Just after reading Heather's profile page, I knew that she had thought everything through and would be more than prepared to handle any situation that might occur. The photo updates were the best I've received and I still go back to check them out. These included numerous walks and trips to the dog parks. Heather was able to take my dog into her place and incorporate him into the family, and upon picking him up, I knew my dog had an amazing stay with Heather. If you're serious about finding someone who will go the extra mile to take care of your little one, look no further.

Heather and her husband were AMAZING hosts for our 7yr old cockapoo, Chelsea, while we went out of town for the 4th of July weekend! We contacted them the day before we were supposed to leave and they were so accommodating. From the start Heather was extremely professional, setting up a meet and greet with us so they could get to know Chelsea and see how she got along with her own sweet dog as well as another adorable dog she is fostering. Heather asked lots of great questions in an effort to get to know Chelsea and make sure she'd be happy and healthy while we were gone. Everything went well and then we brought Chelsea over the next day with her dog bed, food etc. I felt really comfortable leaving Chelsea with Heather and her husband because they seemed like a smart, caring, responsible, and fun-loving couple, which is exactly what they turned out to be! They took Chelsea for walks and even took her on an outing to a sprawling, beautiful park...and the best part for me and my family was that Heather sent us adorable pictures and updates on Chelsea and how she was doing. It was nice to know that she wasn't in a small cage at the boarding place where we have taken her in the past. She was having her own happy getaway - and even got a bath! Thank you to Heather and Alex for taking Chelsea for the weekend, (enduring her snoring), and showing her so much love and such a good time! Looking forward to having her stay with you again in August if you'll have her!
