Our girls are having puppies! (Sept 14 and Oct 3)
Due to my increased responsibilities, I will only be accepting
****repeat clients**** from Sept 10 until Dec 1.
Dogs have been vacationing in my home since 1985. My Golden Retriever puppies would return for vacations and holidays. It truly becomes their home away from home and they love coming here. My best compliment is when a dog is very excited to come back again! I enjoy watching dogs play together and I love getting to know their individual and distinct personalities.
In 2011, I was able to move to this home with 4.5 acres and now have a very large fenced grass yard for dog romping and running. My living room is as large as a 2 car garage with tile floors, dog beds, dog couches, bones and toys. There is enough room for romping indoors when the weather is rainy, too hot or too cold.
I am home nearly all the time and the dogs go in and out all day as often as they can get me to open the door! They can spend as much or as little time outdoors as they want. When it is too hot or too cold, I do limit their outdoor time. I keep my home at comfortable temperatures 24 hours per day year round with heat and air conditioning. Dogs are crated for eating, sleeping and when I run errands. Otherwise, they are free just like at your house. Dogs are never alone and can see each other when crated.
My dogs will play with yours or leave them alone, whichever they prefer. Quite a few aloof, non-playing dogs started playing after a couple days here! Watching other dogs run and wrestle, being invited to play, but not pestered, gave them the space and confidence to join in doggy games. Their owners were shocked and delighted! It is almost like therapy for dogs who forget how to romp with others of their own kind.
I currently have a Golden Retriever, Glory. As a Golden Retriever breeder, I understand and have experience with all aspects of dog and puppy care. Many of my dogs have lived into their teen years (one over 17 years), so I also have a lot of years of elder care. I love the old dogs and miss all of mine. I have a ramp out the back door rather than steps which is easier for the seniors. Extra care, special foods, medicines (oral, injected, topical, etc.) are no problem for me and no extra charge.
For over a decade, I assisted a professional dog trainer every week with obedience classes. I still work with her as often as possible. There are always new things to learn!
All dogs MUST be up-to-date on all vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo/Para Combination, and Bordatella (Kennel Cough).
Heartworm prevention and flea/tick protection needed.
All dogs under 2 years old must also have a clean fecal test within two weeks of coming here.
I will need a copy from your vet of proof of vaccinations for my records. I will NOT accept a dog without this. This is essential to protect all the dogs in my care.
Dogs just need to bring their own food and, if desired, their bed/blanket. (Medicines also, of course.) I have everything else needed.
Drop off and pick up times are set individually that work for both of us. Evening and very late pick ups are no problem and no extra charge.
