Lots of walks, love and attention!
Pet care experience
Dogs have brought me so much joy over the years. I grew up with them, and later volunteered at the local SPCA prior to rescuing a stray Australian Shepherd mix. After losing my beloved pal, I found hosting through Rover was a wonderful way of getting my dog fix. I truly understand the deep bond people share with their canine family members, and will treat yours like one of my own. Your pup is sure to get lots of affection, positive reinforcement, playtime and belly rubs. Any boundaries and routines you have in place will be respected. You'll receive daily pictures and updates so you can take comfort knowing your dog is very well cared for. I usually only have one dog at a time, but can take two if they're from the same family and are small enough to walk together.
Reviews
Hudson had another enjoyable stay at his “second home” with Barb. He bounded up the steps and was so excited to see her again! We received daily updates with photos and video. When we picked him up, he was happy to see us but conflicted about leaving Barb. We are so lucky to have found Barb to look after Hudson. Highly recommend Barb!
Our dog Bailey stayed with Barb during our recent Spring Break trip. We had never left her for this long or with someone outside of our family so we were worried about how she would do. Barb graciously offered to have a meet and greet and it was clear from the first moment that she was a dog lover. Bailey warmed up to her very quickly and I was impressed with Barb’s gentle way of letting Bailey come to her when she was ready. Barb has a wonderful home with a great set up for dogs. Barb sent regular updates and Bailey had a wonderful time with her. We could tell how well cared for Bailey was with her while we were away. We highly recommend Barb and we will be requesting another booking with her soon!
We've had the pleasure of entrusting our beloved dog, Mia, to Barb's care on several occasions, and each time, our experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Barb's consistent professionalism and genuine affection for animals shine through in every aspect of her service. Having Barb as Mia's sitter has been an incredible blessing. Mia returns to us happy and well-cared-for every time, which is the best indicator of Barb's exceptional service. We wholeheartedly recommend Barb to anyone seeking a reliable, loving, and experienced dog sitter. We are incredibly grateful for her outstanding care of Mia and look forward to many more stays in the future
Our dog Roxy stayed with Barb for over a week and we couldn’t be happier with her time in her home. Barb is friendly, loves dogs and took great care of our sweet girl. Roxy had a great time there; she was calm and happy! Barb kept in daily contact with us and sent us pictures. We will definitely be in touch with Barb when we need her help with our dog again.

Behind the gate of my fenced yard is a walking trail that leads to other trails in the area. There are many parks in this neighbourhood. I have bowls, a couple of nice dog beds, and lots of dog toys.

Information Barb B. would like to know about your pet
Any dog guests would need to be past the chewing stage, fully house trained and not aggressive. Limited barking as I work from home and take business calls. I would want to know if they are comfortable being left alone with full run of the house for a few hours at a time, as well as what their feeding schedule is, if they have any medical concerns, where they like to sleep, and their personalities.
A typical day
I have a 400 sf fenced backyard, but there is no grass, which means your dog would definitely get multiple walks. The patio has sunny and shaded areas, so a great place to hang out between walks on nice days. In the summer I use a magnetized screen door so the dogs can come in and out as they please. There are fireplaces for the cold or rainy indoor days.

Availability
I primarily work from home, and when I am away, it's no more than a few hours at a time, but can be up to six hours once a week. Your dog will get out four times a day, with longer walks in the morning and evening, and short ones mid-day and before bed.
