About Larissa

6 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
For a long time I thought I wanted to be a vet, which led to stints volunteering at the Humane Society and a local pet shelter and pet store. Now I work at a nonprofit with flexible hours in the city.

I've had fish, birds, cats, and dogs (currently my parents are with my lhasa apso) ranging in age and breeds, and all have lived long and happy lives!

My home is pet-friendly - a sunny apartment with a similarly pet-experienced and -loving roommate. Large beds for lounging, a corner perfectly fitted for a dog bed, and just a 15 minute walk from Central Park, a 10 minute walk from Carl Schurz Park, and a 5 minute walk from John Jay park.

I'm an early riser so morning walks are definitely doable. My office allows pets, so I'm happy to take the pet with me into work and make sure that they are taken care of fully while you are away. In addition, my roommate is an experience dog-walker and sitter, and will assist with the dog's care if I need to step away. She also works at a dog-friendly office, and our schedules will often allow us to work from home.

Though my profile says I accept large dogs, this will need to be discussed to understand exactly how large the dog is and its unique needs!

Larissa isn't a mom, but her mothering style is rooted in both compassion and attentiveness — two important traits that I believe would make Larissa a great dog sitter. She's experienced with pups (having grown up caring for one) and is a true canine ally (internally squeals every time she spots a dog).

She cares for others the same way any ideal caregiver would: lovingly, attentively and responsibly.

Larissa took care of my puppy, Sophie, for a week and was the best caretaker I could ask for. She was professional and kept me updated with photos and cute updates. She was also very quick to text back/answer my calls which is always my biggest source of nervousness when I leave my dog.

I don't feel nervous anymore when I go away and know I can trust Larissa to take care of Sophie for me.

Couldn't recommend her any more!!

Larissa often watches my poodle, Victor. She's great at reading Victor's emotions and is very sensitive to his needs. I've seen her interact with cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, and fish- they all seem to love her ha. Would hire again!

Larissa is a fantastic sitter, super caring, and is naturally great with pets. I was always a little hesitant to have other people watch my 3 year old german shepherd, Roscoe, because he can be a lot to handle and doesn't get along well with new people. However, that all changed when Roscoe met Larissa. He was immediately comfortable with her and extremely relaxed. I returned home to find my dog, who is almost always hyper, cuddled up with Larissa lying there peacefully. I cannot recommend Larissa highly enough. The only downside is your dog may start to love her more than you.

Great experience, easy coordination. Larissa and her roommate did a great job providing care. My dog seemed to love her time there. Will gladly make return reservations.
Larissa is a great sitter. She took great care of my dog Yuki. She kept me up to date with photos and tales of all the fun adventures Yuki was having. Yuki looked so happy and comfortable with her. I would definitely use her services again and I highly recommend her as a sitter.
