I was appreciative of Tinsely accepting my last minute holiday request when my regular sitter became unavailable, but was somewhat taken aback when Tinsley contacted me to let me know she had left my dog leashed outside while she was at the mall. My dog, who is almost never leashed up and left alone, chewed through his leash. Now, I don't know how far he got, or how he was found (and all I was told was that he was fine), but I find it somewhat careless for any sitter to leave a dog she doesn't own or know well, outside without supervision for an extended period of time. In fairness, I didn't tell her explicitly not to leave him leashed alone (and maybe most dogs are fine with it), but I just didn't think that the scenario would come up. I'm pretty torn over the experience. She was otherwise communicative, and my dog seems fine, but I still feel it is important to write about.
