About Cheryl

30 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Please note if I am 'unavailable' or booked please send me a message, odds are I can and will accommodate you!

We began Time Out Pet Care as a dog walking business in Oak Park 6 years ago. And simply put my son Griff and I LOVE dogs, the more the merrier!

So what is a typical Vacay with us?
We start around 6 or 7am with breakfast for the pups followed by a long walk around the neighborhood! Luckily we live in a very dog friendly neighborhood, with beautiful trees and homes!
After we return we have some play time which usually leads to naps!

Depending upon the dog we usually head out again around 10am for another walk followed up with more playtime!

In the afternoons, when the weather is nice you will find us on our patio playing ball, water play (if the dog likes water!), with toys, maybe some chase etc.
Our home is well stocked with toys for all dogs to share as well as two dog beds, two cat beds, a leather couch (the dogs are welcome here) and treats!

In the evening the we take another long walk along the neighborhood after dinner. Followed by a shorter walk before bed.

At bed time the pups are welcome to sleep where they would like. For example we currently have two visitors, one has chosen to sleep in Griffs bed and the other sleeps with me!

Our guests are NOT crated unless you ask us to do so. They have free run of our apartment and choose where they sleep and nap.

We work to match activities and exercise with the pups preferences and abilities. For example, many dogs do not do well in the heat, so we don't walk as far. However if its an active dog Griff may take them jogging and we take longer walks. As some homes are made for children ours is structured for dogs! And our neighbors enjoy meeting the pups!

I personally have been raised with dogs and have over 30 adult years of experience as well as professionally taking care of pets for 5 years (walking, in home house sitting, pet transport and in my home vacays). Additionally, I have owned, bred, shown and judged horse shows, Owning 36 horses, 10 llamas, 4 dogs, chickens, ducks etc at the same time! Simply put I come with a bit of animal experience. I have also worked with veterinarians and administered meds in IV and pill form for cats and dogs.
Griff has been raised with cats and dogs and has been riding along to dog walks for the past 5 years. Although he is extremely responsible we always walk your pup together!

We hope you will choose us for your pups vacay! We understand how important it is to leave your furry family member with someone you trust. And we strive with every vacay to earn that trust and knowledge that your pup is with someone trustworthy and fun yet professional! We welcome you to our home!

Cheryl was just wonderful! Great communication - especially considering I had to change the details twice. I used her for check-ins to feed and let the dog out, but she stayed and gave her some love and attention, too. She also had to give my cat his insulin shots - and again, she took the time to love him up as well. I recommend her service highly - A+! I will definitely be using her again. Thanks so very much, Cheryl!
Cheryl was fantastic! Or dog is socially a bit anxious and Cheryl managed to form a solid bond with her in 4 days. She was also very flexible with pickup and drop off times. I would absolutely use her again
