About Kristy

13 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
***** Repeat Guests: Please message me regarding availability. *****
For some of us, dogs are not just part of our family. They ARE our family. And for our two rescue beagles, I cannot bear the thought of putting them in a kennel when we travel.

But thankfully, there is another option if you - like us - don't have someone you trust to watch them. About a year ago, I found a site called DogVacay and one pet sitter that they boys have used since. The beagle buddies love it and it's helped Chester become more playful and less frightened around other dogs. Jax - well - he's happy anywhere he gets food and love :)

So, this is also why we've decided to become hosts.

How many dogs do you accept? We can take 2 dogs per night.

Do you accept last minute bookings? For repeat guests, if I have the space available. For new guests, perhaps. All new guests must do a meet-n-greet prior to their first stay so an additional fee may apply to accommodate last minute bookings for new guests.

What size dogs do you accept? We've found that medium-sized dogs do best with our pack.

Are daily walks included? We love to walk our dogs daily, but can only include your dog's walk in the boarding fee IF your dog is able to walk well with ours. Please let me know if your dog shows aggression towards other dogs when on walks. If your dog doesn't typically walk on a leash or just isn't good on a leash, I'd be happy to offer guaranteed walks as an additional service since your dog would need to be walked separately. Please ask prior to booking if you need to include daily walks.

Will my dog be crated? If your dog has separation anxiety or normally stays in a crate while YOU are not home, then yes. Please bring your dog's crate. We do have a medium-size crate that you can rent for $5 extra per night. We also have a gated laundry room that we may be able to leave your dog in while out of the house if you are certain they won't chew. All that said, if your dog doesn't fit into this category, then we are happy to let him/her sleep the afternoon away on the couch when we're out of the house :)

Will my dog be alone during the day? I have a home office so I'm around most days during the weekdays with the exception to run errands and for client appointments. Over the weekends, we may leave the house, but your dog wouldn't be alone for any longer than 4 hours max. Typically it would be much less time than that.

We'd love to be your dog's home away from home. Our pack is very laid-back with one senior, so we can't take hyper-playful dogs.

All dogs must be:
*100% house-trained (that means absolutely not requiring use of pee pads or belly bands)
*Not excessive barkers
*Not fence jumpers or diggers (we have 4ft chain link fence)
*2 years or older (needs to be out of the puppy stages such as chewing)

8:30am - 6:00pm
I ask that you schedule a time in advance with me during these hours so that I can (a) make sure I'll be home and (b) ensure I don't book a business call during your dropoff/pickup time.

If your pick-up or drop-off might fall outside of these hours, please plan on booking an extra day on the front or back end of your pup's stay.

One night boarding covers a 24-hour period. Please ask me about your specific situation if you have questions.

Meet-n-greets are scheduled during daylight hours.

Overnight rates and home visit rates cover up to 2 dogs. Because there is no limit to the love extended to our rescues, additional dogs are just $10 per dog per overnight // or // $5 per dog per home visit.

Overnights cover a 10-hour period. For example: 9p-7a, 10p-8a, or 11p-9a. It ALSO includes one 30 min. checkup visit in the middle of the day (typically between noon-3p). for outside breaks, walking (if no yard), and cuddles.

Home Visits are 30-45 minutes long. Just long enough to give bathroom breaks, food, medicines, and some lovin'. They can include short 10 min. walks if you don't have a yard. I recommend 3 home visits per day if you're going to be out of town but don't need an overnight sitter and vacation packs can be purchased in bulk at a discount. Just ask ;)

Need help with getting your dog to the vets? Cleaning up the yard?
Send me a message to ask about these additional services.

I do require meet-n-greets before booking new guests.

1. Please be sure that you have completely filled out all of of each dog’s information that DogVacay requires. (name, age, description, shot records, etc.)

2. Let me know if your dog has special needs (medications, are they housebroken, escape artists, have separation anxiety) etc.

Please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have :)

Kristy is great! She is always flexible with me and Josey is always excited when we pull up in the driveway. She has a fenced in backyard and I know Josey gets lots of outdoor time which is always my main concern. She always sends me pictures and keeps me updated on everything. She always asks questions to make sure that everything I want is done or taken care of. So appreciative of her taking such good care of my 4 legged baby!
Kristi is wonderful. Always there if we need here and Barkley loves her!
Dexter enjoyed his stay with Kristy and her family! I felt comfortable knowing dexter was in a loving, dog friendly environment. Her two dogs are very easy going, they have a great back yard for play time. We also enjoyed Kristy and her husband, wonderful people! We highly recommend :-)
