About Susan

21 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
My husband and I have loved and cared for dogs for over 21 years, including over 6 years of rescue work and foster care which included caring for sick dogs and puppies. We specialize in TEACUP, TOY, MINIATURE, SMALL & SOME MEDIUM SIZE LAP DOGS UNDER 25 LBS. Unfortunately, rarely can we accommodate larger dogs.

In our home all dogs are treated like puppies and given lots of hugs, snuggles, and treats which often include dog friendly fresh fruits, veggies, and homemade puppy treats. Some puppies don't eat well when they are away from home and that can be stressful for them ... My dogs are on a very healthy, easy to digest, food regimen that I make for them and WITH YOUR PERMISSION, I am happy to add a little of that to your dogs food while they are here, if they won't eat ... my puppy guests love breakfast and dinner here and line up to eat every bite ...

We are happy to take both young puppies and special needs dogs and are very familiar with the needs of diabetic dogs and their medications, blind dogs and dogs with special diets and will be happy to work with you to provide exactly what you ... and they need.

For the security of your little family members we have a large gated kitchen, a large gated deck and a large fenced and flowered area right off the deck, which the puppy's love, because they can come and go whenever they want. We have many other options for our puppy guests as well ... which include running around in our good sized back yard, on lead lines - to keep them safe ... or in a 6' by 30' grassed area that is also off the deck and fenced). We also walk them around our very safe and dog friendly neighborhood twice a day ... our guests are never left alone or unattended outside.

We are very careful, inside and out, with gates and barriers that keep our puppies from running to and thru doors and getting outside ... the safety of your little family members is one of our highest priorities ... we provide them with the same love and care and protection we do our own.

We spend many lovely mornings with the puppies having coffee, tea and treats on the deck in the spring, summer and fall ... or in the kitchen and family room when it's rainy, cold or snowy. We have play time at least 2 times a day inside or out and provide numerous interactive and noisy toys and balls for them to play with.

We presently have 2 resident puppies, both Min Pins … “G” who is 10 years old who came to us very ill and not expected to live, and “Bears” who is 8. They are fun loving, playful and enjoy having “company” both human and puppy. They greet everyone with a lot of noise and excitement but once here, they happily share laps, beds, toys and inside dog houses with anyone who has a treat or wants to play, snuggle or sleep. They love their puppy guests and often can be found snuggling and sleeping with them.

We work from home so we are with the dogs nearly all day, every day. There are always puppy's on our laps or sitting on our large oversize chairs or couch with us throughout the day. Kenny, and all the dogs, usually take a nap in the afternoon, they all pile on the recliner or couch in the family room and nap together. After dinner we all spend the evening in the family room playing, snuggling and watching TV.

The dogs can go out whenever they want or need to ... however, we do make sure they go out a minimum of every 1 to 2 hours. If your puppy is a “puppy pad” puppy, we have the perfect place for that as well. We will make sure sleeping and eating arrangements fit your dog’s needs … and that they get plenty of attention, hugs, treats and love while they are here. We want them to have as much fun on their vacation as you have on yours ...

Susan and her husband, Kenny are very accommodating and great with Lola. We will no doubt use Susan again.
This was the first time we left our two yorkies with anyone but family overnight. We did a trial run first (day camp) just to acclimate the pups. We got regular updates from the awesome husband and wife team. We feel very comfortable leaving our girls with these wonderful sitters and will definitely be using them again. Thank you for making the experience such a positive one!!
