Our family has always had at least 2-14 dogs since as long as I can remember, and when I was much younger, we used to breed AKC Doberman Pinschers. Our pets have always been treated as family members. We respect, love, and cherish having them in our lives. So when your pets stay with me, they ARE part of the family as well!
We have a decent sized home and we don't just allow dogs on the furniture, we encourage it! So much easier to pet, snuggle, and cuddle that way! I have two male dogs, one cat (that truly thinks it's a dog), and two parrots (One that thinks it's a dog too... see a trend?). We have a good sized yard that is perfectly groomed spring-winter, plenty of soft places to rest, relax, sun themselves, and for the older kids, soft deck mats are out, weather permitting. A fully air-conditioned home, and lots of space for them to find their favorite place to nap when the weather is more... Oregon-y.
I have experience with all kinds of animals, and in many different capacities, and special needs animals such as mobility issues, aging, injuries, post-operative care, wound care, medication, comfort care, etc. are all absolutely welcome here too. Our home is carpeted throughout besides the kitchen and bath, our outside deck has 2 shallow steps down to the usually lush grass yard. If they might need a little help, or to be carried, I'll be right there, but it doesn't hurt to remind me to watch for it! When the weather is nice, I try to make sure they get all the time they want outside whether it's napping, sniffing around, playing with my dogs or toys, or even the water hose... whatever they like.
I do a lot of brushing and really spending time being in contact with them, so if I see something I can fix or help, like brushing, soaking/cleaning out eyes, ears, if they don't mind, I'm pretty likely to do just do it. As far as baths, blow dries, and nail trims, I may, or may not charge... it depends. If your baby is with me for over a week, They are probably going to have a bath, a blow dry, and their nails done anyway just because I might be feeling good and **want** to! It's a very relaxing thing for a lot of dogs, between a warm bath and a nice blow dry and brush out, they just seem to feel pampered and relaxed, and I LOVE THAT!
***For pets that require medications or injections: Please make a list of the medication names, dosages, and their schedule, If you are unreachable for some reason, The names and dosages can be critical information! Feel free to make pill packs for each meal or for each day, or in an organizer, but I still need the names and dosages if they are not in their bottles!***
If you haven't seen something you require, or would like to know, PLEASE feel free to ask! I'm completely aware that you are considering allowing me to care for your family members/fluffy kids/babies... You need to be sure that you are entrusting them to the best possible hands besides your own! Please ask away until you are certain! I'm nearly always available! Thank you for considering me!
