About Candice

11 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
My family moved from a farm three years ago to a quiet neighborhood in Beaverton. We have experience with lots of different animals including pigs, sheep, llamas, chickens, cats and dogs. When we moved, our two dogs came with us. Our gentle giant Great Dane named "Bono" and our happy Border Collie named "Max." In the last year we lost both our dogs to old age, 15 and 11 and we are missing having our babies around. We do have four chickens in an enclosed area (Blackie, Buttercup, Chocolate Chip and Carmel). They keep us entertained and in eggs.

Our fenced yard is nice and open with lots of grass to play fetch or roll around in. The yard has a good amount of shade which is super nice on hot days. The interior of our house is tidy and homey. The living room is an open space where the pups can curl up for a nap or play tug of war. Whatever their hearts desire.

I am a stay at home mom with a 7 year old attending 1st grade, so there is drop off and pickup and some after school activities in our day. My husband has a somewhat flexible work schedule, where he can jump in and help out as needed. Your pet will enjoy a nice walk in our neighborhood or surrounding trails depending on what your dog prefers. There are a couple dog parks close by and we can talk about that being a possibility as well.

Your dog is part of our family when they stay with us. They will be loved and cared for like one of our own pets. Since we do have a young child, we will not be able to take aggressive dogs. Please no Pit Bulls, Akitas or Chow Chows. If you have any special requests for your dog, we will do our best to accommodate.

If your pup in one year and under, there is an extra $5 per night charge and they must be crate trained.

Candice provided excellent care for my 2 dogs when I went out of town. She was able to accommodate each dog's special needs, and they felt right at home. Candice provided daily updates, and it was clear that the dogs were given a lot of love and attention. This was a stress-free vacation for me and my dogs. Everyone returned home happy, healthy, and relaxed. Thank you Candice! We'll be booking with you again soon.
AWESOME dog sitter
Candice and her family treated my dog like a family member. Toby was walked every day, included in movie night and was allowed to be a lap dog(all 80 pounds of him).
Each day Candice sent at least one picture update of what they were doing that day. Toby never looked happier.
I love how well Candice took care of my baby and she will be the first one I call on when I need another vacation.
We have a small sized senior dog and a medium sized active dog that Candice and her family were able to accommodate extremely well. Without prompting Candice made arrangements for both of the dogs to get walks that were appropriate for their size. They got plenty of affection and we were given ample check ins as well. We had previous horror situations where both dogs were returned to us with the senior dog gaining weight (probably ate the other active's dog food) and the active dog limping due to too much physical activity. Our dogs were returned to us in the state that they were in and we can tell that they were satisfied and well taken care of.

We were bummed from our previous host moving out of our area but we are grateful now that we have found Candice's family. They are definitely our number one choice for future boarding.
Candice and her family cared for Oscar like he was their own - just perfect. We did a brief Meet & Greet ahead of time, and it was obvious their house was completely set up for dogs... nice big backyard, plenty of places to cozy up, and people that my big boxer immediately felt comfortable around. Candice is both friendly and professional, taking down a lot of information about Oscar to keep organized. During his 4 day stay we got regular photo updates, and Oscar got to go on walks, car rides, and generally seemed to be integrated in their lives. It just made me feel that he was being well cared for and happy. This was my first experience with Dogvacay but I couldn't imagine anything better!
Candice was an excellent host for my pup. He stayed a full week with her. I could tell right away she genuinely loves dogs, and that her and her family would be extremely loving and caring with mine. She did everything she agreed to and more, continually kept me updated, and returned my pup in perfect shape. Very thankful for her great service.
Candice was a wonderful sitter! Milo had her all for himself !! So he got her full attention as well as her daughter that came home early from school. Milo had fun with them! They are very good at communicating with my wife and me via cell and email. We would send Milo back to her next time!!
Candice and her family are wonderful! They were very considerate, attentive, and caring to my dog Leo. Candice sent me lots of updates and pics during his stay. Candice and her family played with Leo and walked him. I can tell he really loved being with them and was very well cared for. Leo gets separation anxiety so they made sure that he was not left alone which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely continue utilizing her services in the future and would recommend her to friends and family!
