About Brandon

24 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi, my name is Brandon C. Smith. I am an avid dog lover with two DOG-ters of my own. London and Blue love new friends and are great examples of a big/little dog combination. I work full time for General Motors, but I work 7 blocks away from I'm always around. I have cared for dogs since I was in the second grade for about 23 years now. I have managed a pet store and day care and just frankly love to be around animals. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to bring them to me. I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Brandon's home is a loft in downtown LA with plenty of open space for dog romping. In fact, his complex is so dog friendly there may be more dogs than people in the building. While Brandon's flooring is tile and thus great for dog sitting, sometimes it's not the best for older dogs who need more stability. In those cases, Brandon will be happy to put down a rug.

Speaking of special need's dogs, Brandon can also administer oral medication. He has experience with dogs of many different stripes and has worked in a pet store before so he's very conscientious about dog needs and quirks.

Also worth noting, Brandon's dog London is lovely. She's very warm and loves all kinds of dogs. Sometimes Brandon will also have his family's dog Blue with him. She too is dog friendly.

And lastly, while Brandon does spend time out of his loft during the day, he works very close to home so checking in is possible. Likewise, when needed, his mother can come over and provide closer to 24/7 care.
Brandon was very friendly and flexible. I know he did his best to try to make Oliver feel comfortable so I really appreciate that. I think there was some miscommunication on my end and I should have asked more questions when booking because there were many other dogs at his apartment at the same time including a large dog. He was quick to assure me that he could give the large dog back to his mother while watching Oliver so I really did appreciate him working with me on that but I definitely did not feel at ease when I originally dropped off Oliver there. I was also under the assumption that he would be around the dogs more often than he was, which again could have been my own miscommunication. He later sent me a picture of Oliver on his lap and that made me a lot more comfortable. All in all, you could tell he cared for the dogs and I think Oliver being small and more timid than normal dogs is the main issue. If you have a large or outgoing dog I would definitely recommend Brandon for you!
Brandon is great--calm, competent, and easy to communicate with. It's clear he loves dogs, and I definitely feel comfortable leaving Sharky in his care. Oh, and he sends pictures of the dogs, which is cute/soothing for neurotic pet owners. Thanks, Brandon!
We were leaving our pup here for Christmas and felt so comfortable leaving him with Brandon. Over the course of 9 days we got frequent pictures and videos, and we knew Doc was getting all the love and attention he needed. Our little guy has a somewhat particular food regimen that involved vitamins and fish oil once a day too and Brandon didn't miss a step. He was so professional and warm and welcoming, I couldn't imagine a better host!
