Hi there and welcome to The Dog's Life! Not only are dogs my passion, but they are also my livelihood. I have been working professionally with pets for the past 10 years, gaining experience from pet food stores, doggie daycares, dog walking, supervising a boarding kennel, and working with service and rescue dogs. Currently, I own and operate my own dog walking and pet care company called The Dog's Life, which services Mississauga and Milton. I also work part time as an Adoption Counsellor for the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. I currently have a 1 year old Border Collie/Lab mix named Rosie who absolutely loves every dog she meets. She provides endless entertainment for any dog that boards with us, but also respects when another dog is done playing and enjoys cuddling on the couch during down time. I am extremely active with Rosie and am always either walking with her, enjoying safe off leash time playing fetch or training with her. At The Dog's Life, I focus on exactly that - doing everything I can to make sure the dogs in my care are happy, well exercised and comfortable. I have an extremely flexible schedule and my days are filled with where ever the dogs take me. For more active dogs, I could be spending the whole day outside running around and playing, and for the more low key dogs, we could spend most of the day inside cuddled up on the couch with a few short walks to stretch their legs. I provide many comfy dog beds and human furniture for the dogs when it's nap time and of course my clients are more than welcome to bring any beds/mats/crates/toys they have to make their dog feel as at home as possible. I have had extensive training and experience on reading animal body language, learning how to effectively communicate with them, and how to build a relationship built on mutual trust and respect. I only ever use positive reinforcement training with the dogs I work with, so you can rest assured that I will never use any harsh verbal or physical corrections with your dog.
