Every pet is family in my home

Pet care experience

I will take care of your baby as one of my own. I will provide food, water, snacks, and games. Or you can bring your own. Also you can bring their special blanket and toy so they won't miss you much. Also, at additional cost, I will provide half an hour of basic obedience training or a bath if needed. I have plenty of room for your baby to roam , and I can walk them to Ivy Hill park located near by. I have plenty of experience as animal handler. I have animals of my own which I consider my babies. I live with my loving and caring husband, and my wonderful mom, my cats and dogs. I love to bake pastries and cookies for dogs. My baked goods are for sale too and I will give a sample to you as a gift. About this sitter: Hi! My name is Erika. I'm a very responsible person that will take care of your small furry family members. As a pet mother I understand first hand the worries that we suffer about our little babies when going away for a night or two. I will take care of your family member as my own. There is always something funny to do with them like playing tug, fetch, a bit of training, a quiet walk or just a cozy off time. I like to make pastries goods for dogs, my babies love them, and I love them watching me baking for them. The website doesn't have a classification for house visits, please be advise that under home stays that's what I will do, and that the price covers a 24 hours period in which I will visit your house 3 times, the latest at 9-9:30 pm. Why I love dog sitting I have dogs and cats all my life. My first dog was a mini poodle named Sheela, I was just 3 years old. My oldest dog passed away at 22 human years, my oldest cat at 23. As you see, I do take good care of my pets. For me they are family, my children. I don't have human children, I'm not that blessed unfortunately. My pets take the place of children and I spoil them rotten, to the point that I have a room for my mom's service dog with its own twin bed which Areto doesn't like to use unless I'm on top. Pet sitting is great because it gives me a lot of satisfaction and I get to know people and their pets. Meet my pets Areto is the family's service dog. She is trained to help my mom with her movement needs, she also alert us when a migraine or a seizure occurs. She is sweet and tender with humans. My other big baby is Lazarus. He is a lab/German Shepherd /Chow mix according to his vet. He rescued me and I rescued him. He showed up in my driveway a week after I moved to my new property. He was malnourished, with visible signs of abuse all over his skinny body, and even scared of his own shadow, artificial lights, and ceiling fans- literally. He approached me, it was a very scary moment because I thought it was going to attack me but what he did was to hug me, hug me! What a way to get a family! It broke my heart. My brother and the new neighbours were speechless. My new neighbours knew him from his street roaming and always thought of him as aggressive and abused but never did anything about it. It took me almost a year to teach him to be brave and confident and to be just a pretty and lively puppy. Still he doesn't trust strangers and sometimes barks and show aggressiveness behind my skirts. He is a pastry expert, and gets happy when he walks long distances, and always gives me hugs everyday. About my yard I do have a back yard that has vinyl white fences and it is divided in two sections. It has seasonal flowers, grass, fruit trees, and a paved area with a hammock and seating. My guest won't have access to the backyard because my own babies will be there. My guest will use my front yard which has grassy areas, a small pussy cherry tree, evergreens, roses, and lavender plants. It has a chained fence, and my guest will be under supervision during the guest's bathroom break.

During our dog's stay with Erika, there was an unfortunate incident at the park when a stray cat jumped and stratched our Guinness. She handled it very well - called us immediately. She drove him to our vet to be cared for even gave him a treat as he rested comfortably in her home. These things happen and she kept us in the loop the whole time. Guinness is quickly getting better.

Erika was wonderful--she shared many photos of our dog during the trip, was super responsive, and even made special treats for our dog! When he came home, our dog was certainly well loved and tired from playing around with their other puppy!

Information Erika M. would like to know about your pet

I don't have breed preferences. I want to know if the pet has aggressive tendencies, if it is territorial, or prey driven. I want to know this information before any booking. I need to take in consideration the safety in my house. I do have cats that are friendly but I need to know if the guest is friendly towards unfamiliar cats. In case that isn't I will the take the proper safety measures to keep everybody safe. I always keep my own dogs away when pet sitting a guest just to avoid territorial or aggressive behaviour. My dogs are very friendly but I don't know my guest's behaviour.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I walk my guest an average of a mile or two around my neighbourhood all the way to Ivy Hill Park Your dog's sleeping arrangement My guest will sleep in my living room, my bedroom or my porch depending on its size. My porch is big, comfortable, and enclosed. The guest can bring his/her own bed and blanket or I can provide them. I had guests that brought their own crate. Time I'll spend with your dog I'll be around my guest 20 minutes of every awaken hour, half to one hour walk, and monitoring my guest during his/her dinner. I'll check my guest at least two times during sleeping hours at night.
