My name is Maiki, I am a 24 year-old nurse living in downtown Toronto. I work as a Registered Nurse just down the street from my home in a highly recognized downtown hospital on the General Surgery unit. I love my job and have a great social life outside of work, but there is one thing missing - a furry friend! Unfortunately, due to my 12 hour work days (or nights), I am unable to have a dog of my own.
I have been a dog lover my whole life. I started my own dog walking business at the age of 10, and for 3 years I walked a number of neighborhood dogs. After years of begging, my family adopted our first rescue dog when I was 12 (a lovely Airedale Terrier), and I became the primary care provider. After she sadly passed away from cancer, my family adopted another elderly dog with some health issues, including incontinence. I became a master at doggy diapers! (This may have been the precursor to my future career in nursing). Since moving away from home and living on my own, I've found that I really miss the companionship and unconditional love that you get from a dog.
I live in a semi-detached heritage house near Yonge and College. I live on the 2nd and 3rd floor, with a large patio space on the top floor. Unfortunately I have no access to the backyard, so walks would be my priority! I am very active, and would offer multiple walks throughout the day depending on your dog's activity needs. I have a dog park down the street from my home, which I love to visit whenever I'm lucky enough to dog sit for my friends. As a nurse, I am CPR and First-Aid certified, and would be comfortable with medication administration if needed.
I would treat and care for your pup as my own!
