About Sandra

My name is Sandra, I live in Springfield, VA with my husband Ryan and our "fur" kid Kody.

Kody is 2 yr old 45lb Male Shepard mix. We adopted Kody from City Dogs Rescue in DC!

I own my own business and am blessed to be able to work from home and hang out with the dogs all day!

We own a large single family home with a huge 1/2 acre fully-fenced back yard. Our fence is 6ft, wood and in perfect condition.

We even have a bone-shaped doggy pool in the back yard for those warm summer days!

My husband and I have dedicated a huge portion of our lives to our two dogs and also to our volunteer work with Capitol Canines Animal Rescue. We love to foster dogs and have fostered over 100 dogs over the past two years!

We have a passion for caring for animals, You can rest assured that your furry friends are in the best hands. We gladly welcome all dogs, big and small- special needs and all. They will be fed, walked, played with and treated like family.

My schedule is very flexible and we accept last-minute bookings!

I know Biride is in great care when we drop her off at Sandy's house. Sandy is very accommodating on drop-off and pick-up times, which is a great stress relief. We use Sandy a lot and it's nice not to have to worry about the pup when we're on vacation.
I knew immediately that Sam and Chief would be loved by Sandy. She was very accommodating for this shirt notice stay. The dogs had lots of room to run and they made new friends with Sandy's dogs. Sam and Chief will definitely be going back to stay at their new home away from home vacay spot.
Another great stay for Clover, and the first one for my new pup Missy. Sandy took them on short notice, sent me a great picture of them hanging out together, and they were even freshly bathed when I picked them up! So happy! We will definitely be back soon!
I can't recommend Sandy highly enough. She took my dog at the VERY last minute so I could attend a funeral out of state. Clover was well cared for and happy when I came to pick her up, and she wasn't sure she wanted to go home! I see that as a good thing, and will be booking with Sandy again soon! Don't hesitate to have your dog(s) join in the fun!
I could not have been happier leaving my dog, Leo, with Sandra. Sandra and her husband Ryan are wonderful, kind, and caring people. They also foster dogs; their passion for dogs and knowledge about dogs is apparent as soon as you walk in. I am fairly picky about who I leave my puppy-family-member with and they more than exceeded my expectations. I will absolutely be contacting them for future DogVacay visits!
This was Bella's first time on an overnight. Sandy had Bella come for a play date for one day before and it was a great introduction for Bella. Sandy was very patient with Bella and knew exactly what to do to make her comfortable. By the end of the overnight, she had Bella snuggling with her on the couch and watching movies, just like she does at home. When I got Bella home, she was exhausted from all the play time with her new friends, Cody and Alex. It's a great feeling to know that your dog is safe, never alone, has playmates and treated like she is one of Sandy's own pets. Thanks Sandy for a great experience! Bella will definitely be coming back!
WOW! Dewey and Daisy had a FANTASTIC time at Camp Sandy's! I have never felt so good about leaving them anywhere! She and her husband and pups were great and the home was more than clean! I wouldn't hesitate to ask again (if she will have my mountain climbing pug back)! She constantly updated me with how they were and great pics of both of them! I cannot rate her high enough, but I hope she doesn't get too popular b/c it is now D&D's home away from home! You will love the whole experience, I promise!
