My entire life has been spent in the company of dogs and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
As a child I grew up with parents who showed and bred Collies, so it really does seem like I have been training and showing dogs forever.
My love and passion for dogs (and animals in general) led me to a career in veterinary medicine. I attended Medaille in Buffalo and worked in the field for several years. My old roommate then got into Veterinary school which left me with a mortgage to pay on my own and eventually I left the field for a (much) better paying job.
I miss the daily interaction with both dogs and clients and the relationships that were built from years of taking care of a clients family pet. I began dog sitting while I still worked in vet medicine for clients, and began to do so even more once I left the field.
As a result of my background I’m comfortable with most any animal. I have no problems giving medications, IV or injectable medication, or insulin. I also don’t have a problem with a dog who has behavior issues.
I offer pet sitting in either your house or mine. Dogs staying at my house must be dog friendly. I also need to know if your pet is spayed or neutered. Since I show my dogs, three of them are still intact and I can not have unneutered males around my girls when they are in heat.
I have 2 German Shepherd dogs, Molson and Tucker, 2 Irish Wolfhounds, Millie and Lila, and a French Bulldog, Henry. They are all very friendly and well behaved and great play mates for dogs of any age, size of energy level.
Think of your dog’s stay as their own vacation. They will be loved, spoiled, and treated as one of my own. They can be left free in the house, gated in a room, or crated-whatever they are used to and whatever is most comfortable for them. You can also expect to come home to a happy but tired dog-there is lots of play time here. I have a huge backyard fully fenced in with 6-foot wood privacy fence. I also have cameras in the house to watch the dogs when I can’t be there.
Please also be advised I do have references I can share.
Thank you for your consideration!
