Hi there! I am a musician and life-long dog owner and love. I work (mostly) from home with my trusty 2nd in command: my 12 year old small beagle-mix, Julip. We own a lovely home with a HUGE fenced-in backyard that we have recently renovated and we'd love to welcome your pets to share that area with us if they need a place to stay and play.
The backyard is very large with lots of grass, a pool for during the summer when it's very hot, and it's fully fenced in with large six foot cement walls. Dogs have a large space to run around freely and enjoy the California sun! We also have plenty of toys and outdoor games to keep them active and engaged, and I never leave them unattended outside. On most beautiful days, I take my computer outside and work from there so we can all get fresh air and sun!
About Julip: she twelve and a mixed breed Beagle/Dachschund/Rat Terrier. She has all her her shots, her monthly heartworm and flea & tick prevention treatments, and she does well with other dogs. She tends to take about 5-10 minutes to "bark it out" when she first meets new dogs, but after that, she'll be life-long buddies.
Since I work from home, there is someone here with the dogs all day long except on Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays when I meet with my clients in the afternoon. During the summer pets get use of the pool (if you're comfortable with that and they like to swim), but the house is also fully air conditioned as well. If I have to leave the house for any reason, my husband is usually here to watch the dogs in my absense.
OVERNIGHT (and day) GUESTS ARE PAMPERED WITH:
->Full run of the HUGE fenced-in yard with grass, sunshine, and even the pool if they like to swim. Always completely monitored by either my husband or me.
-> Complete comfort of the furniture in the house. We allow pets on the couches and beds. We even have extra dog beds in the home for our guests.
-> Plenty of dog toys to play with and keep busy!
-> Rawhides, cookies, and treats for all of our guests.
-> Medicine management and administration (if needed).
->Photos and text updates and check-ins to keep you up-to-date.
->Plenty of water at all times so your pup/dog keeps hydrated.
->Lots of play and activity time!
->A great mix of indoor/outdoor time. When it's hot out, I make sure they are inside out of the hot sun and heat, but that they still get enough fresh air and exercise that they need. When it's a beautiful day, I take my computer outside to work so that they can run around outside and get tons of exercise and fresh air.
->Constant attention! I work from home, so someone is with your pet 24 hrs a day. My husband is also very active with the dogs once he gets home from work and plays with them constantly (he's a big mushball with dogs), so your pet is well-loved when here.
While my prices may be *slightly* higher for the area (really, only by a couple dollars), you absolutely get what you pay for. A large fenced-in yard with constant attention by an experienced pet-owner who truly cares about your pet, and making sure *you* feel comfortable knowing that your pet is in good hands! Isn't that worth an extra dollar or two? :)
A few other notes:
I am comfortable administering pill and liquid medications but NOT needle injections. I do request that all male dogs be neutered, particularly male dogs as Julip does not dog well with aggressive or highly hyperactive males (she's only been with female dogs as companions). Your pet must be up to date on all shot and vaccines. We have no children and live in a non-smoking, friendly home on a safe cul-de-sac with wonderful neighbors who are also pet owners.
MEET & GREET REQUIREMENT (free):
I do require a free Meet & Greet for new clients. This is arranged at your convenience to make sure that it's a good fit for both the dogs and that you are happy with the space and arrangement. If all goes well, I'd love to book your stay and become your new sitter! :)
