About Rebecca

44 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
It is our pleasure to welcome your beloved pets into our home! Both my husband and I work from our home office, so we especially enjoy the company our pets (and yours) provide us each day. We were both born into a house with a resident dog, and I have never been without at least one dog in my family home. Together, we have raised 7 dogs, 16 cats (most from rescue), fostered 12 feral kittens, several birds and 4 abandoned bunnies. Caring for animals has always been a priority in our lives. At the present time, we share our home with 2 Golden Retrievers, several cats, and a small backyard flock of chickens.

We live in a cul-de-sac, in the original El Toro tract of Lake Forest. Thus, our lot size is one of the largest in the city. Our once tiny house has grown over the years through many remodeling projects, and now boasts lots of indoor space to accommodate our doggy guests (and any special needs they may have), and plenty of outside areas for fresh air and exercise. We do have a swimming pool, which can be available for supervised swimming. It can be especially useful for providing gentle (attended) exercise for arthritic Senior dogs. We also have the means to keep the pool off-limits to curious, unsupervised swimmers!

We live in a great area for walks, close to 2 parks and a duck pond. We love to pack the dogs up and travel the short trip to Huntington Dog Beach, whenever possible.

The service we provide is tailored to your dog's individual needs. Some dogs are happy with 1 or 2 walks a day, some may require 3. A Senior dog may not enjoy a vigorous walk, but may rather enjoy a short run in the garden. We have a large bedroom, which we happily share, but we also have several private rooms available. If access to a doggy door is required at night, we can provide that, as well.

Crate-trained puppies are welcome!

Rebecca is great around dogs and really gets them! She is compassionate and loving and our dogs love going to her house. Even our foster dogs come home happy and better-behaved after staying with her.

Rebecca is my dog owner mentor. Before I rescued my golden retriever, I watched how she interacted with her dogs. Once I got my dog, it was clear who to ask to dog sit when I went out of town. I trust her completely to take care of all of his needs, and know he is in great hands.

Rebecca is the number one person I trust for my pet care and guidance. She welcomes pets into her home, and treats them like family. She attends to their needs, giving them quality care and affection. She intuitively understands the differences between large breeds and small (we have a basset hound and a chihuahua). Whether they need a quick walk around the neighborhood or a lazy nap outside in the garden.. she makes all animals feel safe and comfortable in her home. I highly recommend Rebecca as a pet sitter.

Rebecca and her husband were wonderful to work with! She spoke with me to ensure Duke would be a good fit for her household and was very easy to communicate with. They have two beautiful Goldens that matched and complimented Duke's energy perfectly.

Rebecca provided updates on Duke's activities and photos of him playing with her dogs. She spent plenty of time with me when we dropped him off to make sure she was following our training rules and answered all my questions. When we picked him up she gave us a full rundown of his stay and even gave us some tips on commands and treats that Duke responded well to! Overall, great experience!
