Sunshine Country Retreat Moto: A happy dog is an exercised dog. At Sunshine Country Retreat we value facilitating a great time for your furry friends while you are out living your best life too. We love getting outside and enjoying Durango paw style. I first started hosting pups through Rover when I lived in Tahoe City, Ca— and am really happy I am able to do the same here in Durango, Co.

Nichole was awesome from the time I requested to book until the day I picked up my pup from her house. We were traveling to Durango and took the train for the day. Nichole was flexible and accommodating on the hours. She sent photos of my dog and kept me updated on their activities. I felt comfortable and confident my pup was in good hands!
Nichole was great - friendly and easy to communicate with. She sent updates and pics and was flexible with pick up times. My pup came home happy and tired. Would gladly book her services again.
We needed a last minute sitter for our babies since they are not allowed on the train ride. Nicole was luckily available and took great care of them. She also sended pictures of our babies,that was very nice and made us comfortable since we rarely leave them with others. Thank you so much Nicole and paws from Tuono,Neve and Bodie
Nichole was amazing! She walked our 12 week golden retriever during last weekends snow storm. Nichole was quick to respond to our inquiry, willing to make an extra visit to meet us, and so dependable. We are very grateful and hope to see her again on our next visit.

My dog Aspen is very laid back and gives every dog their space. He is a large dog so if your dog doesn’t get along with big dogs we would not be a good fit.
A typical day
When you drop your companion off with me they will get plenty of exercise and will be ready to snooze when you pick them up! I only take one to two dogs at a time.

Availability
Im a field biologist that opens up my availability when I’m off and have nothing but time for your furry family member. Don’t hesitate to reach out if my availability isn’t open— I’ve accepted several requests when my calendar has said I was unavailable. We live on 1.3 acres and our house backs up to the national forest. With your permission I’ll take your pup to a local trail for up to a 3 mile walk daily as weather permits.
