My husband and I LOVE dogs. So much so, that I started a business making organic dog shampoo because I believe it matters to their health and well-being. I have since moved on from the dog shampoo business (RIP Naked Petcare), however my husband and I would love to keep these loving, amazing animals in our lives. We can't commit to having our own dog right now, which is why we are turning to DogVacay. We are happy to wash your pup with our own organic dog shampoo if so desired! It's an organic, hypoallergenic formula that is great for the skin and coat (coconut oil and lavender essential oil are two key ingredients).
As for our experience, we both grew up in homes with dogs, and we had our own dog as well before moving "up north" for work and grad school. We adopted our dog, Theo, shortly after we were married, and he has since been taken in by my husband's parents and subsequently spoiled rotten by them.
My schedule is such that I work in Soho Monday through Thursday, and from home most Fridays. We therefore are only opening up our home to furry guests on Fridays and over the weekend so that we can provide them with ample attention and walks in the park nearby (Fort Greene Park).
We live on the top floor of a brownstone, so any pup staying with us should be able to walk up stairs. We also require that they be house trained. If the pup cannot be left alone in our living room or bedroom, we will need for a crate to be provided for the duration of the dog's stay.
We look forward to meeting your furry-family member and welcoming him or her into our home!
