I am deaf, however that has not stopped me from taking care of animals for most of my life. I currently have one dog who I am training by myself to be my service animal and I also have one cat who is a stray rescue.
Our typical day is getting the cat off my pillows since she loves to steal them and taking the dog out to go potty and go for walks (we LOVE to go for walks since it helps us to lose weight and keep fit!) We also do some work on the computer so some days are pretty relaxing and lazy.
I do prefer a non-biting dog, since I do not want to end up in the hospital needing stitches but if the dog bites, or is overly aggressive with other animals, I would recommend that you provide a properly fitting muzzle and I can work with the dog with animal aggression. I have no problems what so ever with an overly aggressive canine and am perfectly happy with working with the dog.
I do not mind giving dogs a bath, or even cats either! Both my dog and cat gets a bath without too much trouble, it's getting into the tub that's the fun part! Once in, they are great and I have a long shower hose so I can get them wet without a lot of hassle.
ALL dogs need their own leashes and collars. If the dog pulls, please make sure they have a properly fitting harness. Absolutely NO pronged choke collars please and no choke collars on dogs that pull aggressively, please be kind and put them in a good fitting body harness, this will save their throats in the long run. I can and will work with them.
