During the holiday season please feel free to contact me even if my calendar says fully booked. If you are unable to find other care then will try to squeeze you in depending on which dogs we currently have!
Please read our reviews for more insight into how other people feel about the way we care for their furry family members! If you have any questions or concerns, please by all means ask me. I absolutely love animals and have cared for them my whole life. Growing up on a farm gave me experience with a wide range of animals. We treat and love them as our own because that is how we would want our dogs treated if they were in someone else's care. They even have their own Facebook page :-) Check it out, the page is Dachshund Powers. Unfortunately I can't post the link, but it is easy to find!
We are very open and honest so please feel free to ask us any questions.
We moved into our current home 3 years ago in a great neighborhood with a beautiful large backyard. I also love to hike at Runyon Canyon and we frequently go on walks around the neighborhood. It would be a pleasure to bring your dogs along for company! We are also frequent visitors of the Central Park dog park nearby and take all of our dogs there as well as to the dog park in North Hollywood on occasion.
I have lived in Valencia for 6 years and my husband recently moved here as well once we found a house. We have 4 dogs, all Dachshunds, so they are kind of our specialty. To be completely honest, we spoil our dogs rotten. They are like our children. If you don't mind, we will spoil your dog too when they stay with us!!
We have implemented a "Frequent Booking" program and a "Referral Rewards" program for all of our clients!! We will give your pups lots of love, attention, and treats (with your permission of course) while they are with us. We have a large stock of toys, treats, and a love seat that is just for the dogs! We often get them gourmet baked goods from The Dog Bakery at The Grove (Pupcake, Carrot Cake, and Truffles are pictured). You will also see pictures of our dogs as well as some of the dogs that we have cared for through DogVacay.
I have a very flexible schedule. I do background work on TV shows because I love to see how they are put together. Doing this allows me to choose what days that I work, meaning I am open to help you when needed. My husband is retired military, so he is usually home as well. In addition to the two of us my adult stepdaughter also lives with us and helps care for your babies as well.
When we are caring for another persons dogs we try to make sure that one of us is always home, so we don't have to leave your dog alone while he/she is with us. The longest is usually 1 or 2 hours if we both need to leave the house, but that is rare. If there is a need for us to leave your dog alone, we prefer to make sure all of the dogs are separated, including our own, to prevent any fights in our absence. How the dogs are separated all depends on the dogs we have at any given time. We will either leave our dogs outside and yours inside, or if we have dogs from 2 or more clients then we may need to put some of the dogs in a crate. Mind you this is only for an hour or 2 at the most. We will discuss this with you before your dogs stay and due to a previous incident we now require you to sign a consent to put your pup in a crate which is 100% our last used option. Obviously we prefer NOT to do this, but like all people we occasionally have doctors appointments and need to go grocery shopping. The only reason we separate them is for their safety. You can't anticipate what a group of dogs will do or how they will behave towards each other in the absence of a human, so we like to make a preemptive strike to keep them safe. Again, we will talk with you prior to leaving your baby in our home without a human there and what you feel the best option is for him/her.
All clients also leave with a bye-bye goodie bag after their first stay with us and treats from The Dog Bakery after EVERY stay. They are very healthy and boutique style treats that all dogs seem to love! We always make sure to have Gluten Free options available, so please be sure to let us know what your pups dietary needs are if any. We will ask you to fill out a short "About My Baby" form with pertinent information that we will file for future visits.
Thank you and we look forward to meeting you and your babies!!!
