About Mary

14 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello fellow dog lovers,

We are a friendly, active, outdoorsy couple in our early thirties, and for the first time in our lives, we find ourselves without a dog. Our beloved rottweiler-lab mix, Bailey, died from cancer about a year ago. Ever since then, though, we have still managed to have a dog almost consistently in our house, as we are the go-to dog watchers for about eight of our friends.

We can't imagine our lives without a dog. Last summer and fall, we watched our friend's border collie for four months while she and her boyfriend hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. So my boyfriend and I have plenty of long-term dog watching and dog loving experience. We can provide you with references, upon request, of course.

We live in a large three-bedroom house with a fenced-in yard in the South End in Burlington. Nearby parks on the lake are great for dog walking, running, and swimming. Ryan works from home during the day, which means your dog will not be left home alone in the house. Your dog will have full access to our house and property, including couches and beds. It's a great alternative to the crowded doggy daycare centers in town, where dogs often contract kennel cough.

Ryan and I love to trail run, mountain bike, and hang out at dog beaches on the lake. All of these activities will be available to your dog. We can also bathe and brush your dog during the visit, upon your request.

We have a passion for dog care that is like no other in this town. Your dog will not regret staying with us!

Callie, the Golden and Brooky, the mix are both rescues who are particular about trust. By the time I picked them up after 4 days they were so comfortable that I had to leash them to take them to the car!
Mary and Ryan have a delightful large fenced-in yard and a home without a lot of extraneous 'stuff' around so the dogs had the run of the place.

I plan to return for another stay in March.
Mary was great! My pup spent two great days with them and came home happy and tired!
Mary and Ryan were excellent hosts to our Irish Setter, Maggie. They took her for long walks, played with her and sent us periodic updates regarding her stay. Maggie seemed really comfortable in their house. Mary also accommodated her eating and medicinal needs which helped us to feel comfortable about Maggie's care. I highly recommend them as hosts for your dog.
Nick had a great time with Mary! She has a beautiful house with a large fenced in yard. My dog is currently being treated for hearworm, and I definitely trusted Mary with him. I will be sending him back next time I am away.
Mary and Ryan were AMAZING! I made a very last minute scheduling for them to watch over my two pups, and they were quick to respond and accept. They have a lovely home with a HUGE fenced in backyard - ideal for dogs - and they took them for jaunts down the road to the local dog park as well for fetch and play time. I got several photo updates and check-ins via text the time they were with Mary and Ryan and they treated by dogs like family. I highly, highly recommend Mary and Ryan for your doggie sitting needs!
I loved Mary. She was sweet and kind. I could tell she loved dogs the minute I met her. My Bella took right to her. Mary updated me on how Bella was doing and sent me pictures of Bella at the beach with her. I would definitely take Bella to Mary again
Mary and her boyfriend were wonderful. They took excellent care of our baby.
This was our first time using DogVacay and were curious how it all worked. Mary and her boyfriend were wonderful, flexible, and our Otto loved them! They knew a lot about German Shepherds and how to deal with his energy. Otto got to go on walks and Mary threw the ball for him multiple times in their huge back yard. We would have felt completely comfortable leaving Otto with them for a much longer time. These two were awesome and I'm recommending them to all my friends!

We were in town for a wedding and Mary and Ryan were great hosts and very flexible with our scedule. They took great care of our dog Lola took her for walks, sent updates and made her feel very comfortable in their home.. We would use them again any.time. Highly recommend.
Mary was a great sitter. Lots of pictures and updates. She has lived in the area for a long time and also helped us decide on some activities to do while they were watching our pup. I highly recommend Mary. She has lots of dog experience and a nice backyard and took our pup for walks in the large meadow behind her house.
