I've had dogs for as long as I can remember, ranging from a Bouvier des Flandres to Miniature Schnauzers, but one of my schnauzers just passed. My heart still aches for him, and I would be more than happy to give the love that I gave him to your pup. *I will have no hesitations watching your young pup, most of the dogs I watch are less than 1yr old!*
I am a current student at St. Edward's University, which is quite possibly the most dog friendly campus you'll ever set foot on. The campus itself is not huge, but is very shaded and you are constantly walking past dogs- old and young, big and small.
Most of my classes are short and spread out throughout the day so any dog will not be left alone for much time at all! I start each class at 9am M-F, but I wake up around 7:30 every day, so early breakfast times or walks wouldn't be an issue. I am done with school by 5 every day, but I have multiple breaks throughout the day in which I would be able to go back to my apartment, which is on campus, and take the dog for a walk or potty break every chance I get.
I play on the club soccer team here at SEU. We practice on campus in a nice grassy, shaded field with lots of trees surrounding. Practices are only M & W starting at 5 and lasting until 7, so if your pup is used to being outside, I would be more than happy to take him/her to the field with me so that they aren't alone.
I usually go for light jogs/walks on Town Lake Trail every evening, and would be happy to take any pup along with me for a nice stroll, if they are good in public spaces with other people and dogs and you are comfortable with it.
I live in an apartment on the first floor with a female roommate who is just as in love with all pups as I am. We have an open dining room and living room which is carpeted, and a small area for our kitchen with tile. There are no steps that need to be taken to get up to my apartment, so senior dogs could walk around comfortable.
My apartment also has a fenced in porch, as shown in pictures, if your dog prefers to stay outside rather than inside.
I have no issues with waking up early for walks or feeding times, and treating a dog like the princess/prince he/she is treated as at home. I have no real restrictions other than the size of the dog, since I do live in an apartment that will be most comfortable for dogs under 40lbs.
I would like to have a meet-and-greet before watching a dog, because sometimes personalities just don't match up, and I would rather figure that out before you leave your baby with me so that we could both have a great time.
With every dog that will stay with me, I plan to make them have the best vacay ever, so that they can look forward to staying with me again!
I will be able to respond same-day, if not within an hour or two.
I would be so happy to be able to take care of your pup and gain a fur-ever friend!! :)
