I am from Cape Cod, Massachusetts where I grew up taking care of a jack russel terrier and an american bull dog. Dogs and other pets have been my best friends in life and I try to give back to them as they have taken good care of me. Later in life I fostered (for 2 years) and rehomed a 6 month old male pitbull with lyme disease. He had a special diet and needs and I took amazing care of him. I later fostered a german sheperd pup for 6 months, potty trained and leash trained her and took excellent care of her as well until I found her a forever home. Both pits and germans are high maintenance, high energy breeds - especially when they are young. But my dogs have always been very friendly, well excersised and well groomed/fed/taken care of. I am not certified in dog CPR - but i have studied it and know how to perform the heimlick on a dog (i have had to heimlick my own dog when a stranger gave her a huge treat and she started choking) and I know the CPR proceedure for different breeds. I design my life around my animals, and joining pet vacay is a way for me to continue on this path. I truly love all animals and I am always very in tune with their needs - whether its feeding/excersise/hydration/love and attention and "damage control and prevention" (if necessary) - I am always watching and on top of it. I can be assertive when necessary but I am naturally loving, sweet and playful. I am strong and can deal with a large dog on a leash. Walking pets in the park, or at the beach - depending on your needs. I can monitor dogs off leash in designated areas. All of this plus, chilling at home and playing with toys when appropriate are things we will probably do in a day. My dogs get multiple walks and off leash times every day. They are the first thing I deal with in the morning and the last thing at night. Side note - I also clean houses and I am more than happy to do a combination of pet sitting and housekeeping.
