"BE KIND AND HAVE FUN TOGETHER."
YOUNG PUPPIES TO SENIOR PUPS ARE ALL WELCOME HERE.
As a former Foster Mom for Maltese Rescue, I enjoy the attitude, sensitivity, and intelligence of the smaller breeds. I have cared for Pomeranians, Yorkies, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Maltese, Chihuahua and others, as well as Chi-Weenies, etc. Many of our guests are repeat visitors.
I am author of Passion for Tea, available on Amazon, and a part-time editor for an author/university professor, I often spend an hour or so at my computer early in the morning. I do not work outside my home.
Charley, my Maltese, (or perhaps a Malti-Poo), and Stanley, the 12-lb. Chihuahua rescued from Pets and People, are both wonderful hosts and have not yet met a dog they do not get along with. They are very patient with our puppy guests. Also, to be safe rather than sorry, on February 5 each received his final Canine Flu Shot against a flu epidemic that is beginning to spread across the U.S. (although not yet in OK, the last I heard).
We usually limit our guest list to two pets, although for short stays we might accept three. I often give my pets a respite and we take a few days off between guests. At the end, they begin staring at me, seeming to say, "Where are our buddies?"
Our home is in an area with underground utility wires, so there is little or no chance of loss of heat or electricity. (In the eleven years we have lived here, recall only one three-hour period of electrical loss.) ,
We have a pet door and/or a bell to ring to our covered patio as well as an escape-proof backyard. If a pet is not familiar with a doggy door, I respond to a whine, a jingle of the bell, or a bark when your pet wants to go outdoors.
If your dog or doggies enjoy being exercised on a leash, we will usually walk in our safe neighborhood most mornings, and (weather permitting) evenings.
For your precious pets' comfort, feel free to bring blankets, beds, food, and favorite toys, although we have plenty of each to share. Sunny-Girl, our shy and gentle cross-Siamese kitty, enjoys lounging in her kitty condo and watching the canine antics. She prefers doggies that do not lunge at her.
We welcome interviews and look forward to meeting you and your small pets. Feel free to make a a Meet and Greet appointment to visit us and we can check each other out – no obligation. If we all feel comfortable, we can arrange a reservation to care for your pup and will provide a loving and fun-filled (or laid-back, depending on personality) vacation in our home.
Read our reviews and get the very best care, as well as excellent pet insurance, which is included at no extra cost. In fact, DogVacay is wonderful, and there are no hidden costs whatsoever.
WE HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!
