Our home is a single level home with a regular size yard. There is a pool but it is gated and additional fencing was added to prevent our smaller dogs being around the pool unsupervised.
After I feed our dogs in the morning I typically open the patio door and let them pay outside while I take care of some outdoor tasks. When I know the dogs are settled and just enjoying the day I head into my office (which is at the patio door where I can see and hear them) I do some studying and work on web projects.
I keep a close eye to make sure the dogs do not stay out in the sun too much and I have also set up a lounge area for the dogs in the office with me, including an indoor bathroom for them (a box/sod unit).
We have a couple dogs with special needs. Cleo (our min-pin) has an eye condition that is causing her to lose her site, so I take care of her and help her. Carly, has a food allergy which causes her to scratch herself, so we have a special diet for her and it has helped.
We take good care of our dogs and treat them as they should be treated; like family.
