About Carrie

45 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Small Dog Specialist! I have owned dogs all my life (8 total). I have trained dogs, and titled one Papillon in AKC Obedience trials. I also taught basic obedience for 3 years. I am a former member of the Mid-Jersey Companion Dog Training Club in Avenel, NJ. I am a former member of the Delaware Valley Papillon Club.

I have bred champion-bloodline Papillons. My husband has owned 3 dogs.

My husband and I currently live in a lovely ranch home with FENCED BACKYARD with DOGGIE DOOR in the wall, for indoor/outdoor play. I work at home, so I am home all day with your dog! Your small dog will never be lonely. They relax and cuddle with us in front of the TV, and become part of our family.

I take small adult dogs at least 1 year old and fully-housebroken and spayed or neutered. Must be under 30lbs. Must be very well socialized with other dogs and with new people - NO aggression issues and NO destructive chewing issues or food aggression.

I do not use pee-pee pads, as they confuse the majority of dogs who are trained to only potty outside on grass or the ground. Please be sure your dog is familiar with going potty outside only, on grass.

My own small dogs are very friendly and quite used to the "guest" dogs who come to stay with us. Your small dog will be safe in my home with 24/7 supervision, or relaxing in his/her crate (optional, for safety) with soft bedding if no one is home for a short time. I strongly recommend bringing a doggy travel crate to protect your dog if I feel the need to, based on the other guest dog's behaviors. This is only if I am not home for a short time, or overnight.

We have a beautiful, medium sized, fenced-in yard with chain-link fence.

I have no children in my home; just myself and my husband. No other pets.

To date, I have been doing dog boarding for over 6 years and have worked with over 56 families from three websites and many word-of-mouth referrals from neighbors and friends, all who were very satisfied and happy with our services and plan on calling again.

I currently offer doggy daycare (in addition to overnight boarding)! I’d be happy to keep your pup entertained while you’re away for the work day, Monday - Friday from 8:00am until 5:30pm.

Please note when booking through this website: Check-Out Pickups after the last night booked are by 9:00am. If you cannot pick up by 9:00am, simply book for an additional "night" on this website, which allows you the entire next day to pick up your pup before 9:00pm. it works similar to a hotel's check in and check out policy.

Drop-offs are from 8:00am until 8:00pm.
Pickups are from 8:00am to 9:00pm.

My husband and I live right off 287, exit 10 - Somerset -, in a lovely, quiet suburb on a beautiful side street.

Meet and Greets are generally available Monday - Friday from 5:30pm till 8:30pm or Saturdays & Sundays from 9:00am till 11:00am.

My 2 Dogs received lots of love and attention , they enjoyed playing in the big backyard and were well taken care of.
Carrie did a fantastic job with my dog, it was our first time leaving him ever and he had a lot of anxiety the first day. Carrie kept me updated through the whole process. She even sent me photos and a video of him playing which was so nice! I love how dedicated she was to making sure my dog was happy and keeping me updated. Thanks again Carrie!
This is a late review, but Kepler stayed with Carrie for two weeks last year while we were in Europe. Kepler had a great time and Carrie took good care of him. Kepler had some medical problems and she took him to a vet and sent us emails to discuss all his issues. We will certainly leave Kepler with her again in the future!
My 10 yr old dachshund is my "baby", so I am very careful about who cares for her when I travel. I chose Carrie because of her experience with smaller dogs, and after meeting her for a pre-booking meet and greet between my Heidi and her three dogs plus a boarding pup, I knew I'd made the right decision.

Within several hours of her arrival at Carrie's home Heidi was comfortably settled in and interacting with the other pups there. Carrie sent me pictures that reassured me that Heidi was safe, happy, and well cared for, and cheerfully tolerated my "nervous mama" calls and texts for the first day and a half. When I picked Heidi up, it was obvious she'd made new dog buddies and I know she's missing her new friends.

I've already talked to Carrie about having Heidi back when I have to travel without her again early next May, and I'll book that time here on the Dog Vacay site as soon as travel details are finalized in March. Thanks Dog Vacay and Carrie for being such a great resource for caring for my Heidi!
carrie was wonderful, worked out everything we wanted and Maggie had a great time with the rest of the dogs.
Our dog adjusted quickly and had a fun filled day.
Everything went well Carrie was great the dog vaycay web site made everything easy.i think our dog chase had a great vacation too. I would recommend Carrie and the dog vacay web site to everyone
I would like to share my wonderdul care that my family member while on vacay. Carrie was a blessing to our Phoenix while away. I received daily updates and cute pix daily. I felt very comfortable that Phoenix was in good care and would plan to use her service again and again!
Carrie is really wonderful with dogs --and her own "babies" welcomed Daisy with open paws! If you are looking for a great place to leave your pup where they will never be lonely-- this is the place!
Carrie was professional, caring and friendly. We were absolutely at ease leaving our Coconut with her while we were vacationing out of country. Would recommend and use her services every time we need.
Carrie is great when it comes to taking care of your dog. She kept me posted on my dog every day with a picture. Never felt that my dog wasn't doing great. And she has 3 great dogs to keep company with, how can anyone even get bored there.
