I now live in a situation where I have space for animals, and I work from home. When I noticed the opportunity through DogVacay, I was so excited to see a way to provide a service and enjoy and love all sorts of dogs!
I am a natural care taker of people and animals. Before I "got" Louie and moved to Oregon I helped my friend Katie take jobs pet sitting, usually at people's homes and often overnight. I lived in the city and only had a cat, so I loved spending time with all the dogs. Katie was so good with animals, her business was overflowing, and she taught me a lot about how to be attentive to pets and owners.
I have been a Social Worker for 20 years, so I am very good at hearing what people want and need. That, combined with my access to amazing walks out here in Mosier, my flexible time, and the easy going space out here in the semi-woods, creates a great dog stay environment.
I can take your dog(s) in, or, come to your home, schedule permitting.
I have a 10 year-old Blue Heeler, who is well socialized. He hangs well with other animals and people (respectful of cats), and is obsessed with catching frisbees. I can have him visit your dog(s) or he can stay at home if I'm walking or checking on yours. It's flexible and he's flexible. He adjusts to rules for visiting dogs.
We don't have a fenced area. We live in the upper loft of a barn that's in a woodsy valley not far from downtown Mosier. Louie hangs upstairs or downstairs in the shop, or outside. He's a herder/frisbee dog, so doesn't really wander away from the group. However, I accommodate your dogs' need, whether he/she needs merely supervision outside, a leash, a toy, etc.
I'd like to talk to people first, at least on the phone, and get a feel for what their pet needs and would like. IF there are special needs that I didn't check, talk to me. I'll be clear about any limitations I have.
We'll plan a great stay, visit, or walk!
