Hello, my name is Julie. My husband and daughter live on 4 acres of paw heaven here in Bakersfield, California. My Daughter Apryl, is 20 and is attending Taft college while working on a nursing degree.
I have many years of experience in most aspects of dog training and illnesses and injuries through my work in a local veterinary office here in town and have a certificate in canine first aid and emergency procedures.
One of the many benefits of boarding your dog with us is that we NEVER expose your dog to the MANY diseases and/or possible exposure to the random aggressive dogs at a dog park. Dog parks are not monitored by any county or city official. This means that your dog could be attacked by another dog while you watch unable to save your dog. Dog parks will typically have dogs that are unvaccinated, leaving your dog exposed to the MANY forms of parvovirus and other dog diseases.
A typical day for your dog can include:
AM: A morning walk through our country roads filled with almond groves along a beautiful canal with plenty of "local" wildlife to amaze your dog and keep him entertained. Some of which are horses and riders, golf carts, goats on leashes and an occasional cat out for a stroll!
PM: Another walk, only this time with the mystery of the beautiful sunsets we have here!
Your dog will be made comfortable with a nice assortment of comfy dog beds and mats. Toys and tugs, along with 24 hour supervision by myself and my family.
Since we value your dog as much as you do, we will be providing your dog with an extra measure of security by attaching a GPS tracking dog tag to his collar upon his arrival. Then, should your dog get loose (not likely), we will have the means to find your dog's exact location within minutes!
When you book with us, please provide in your text your pick up and drop off times. We are pretty flexible with the times, just text us if your plans change or if you need extra time.

ABOUT US: We have six fur babies of our own, all of whom are well behaved, obedience trained, house broken, agility/herding dogs who are either getting ready for the show pen or have been retired. We have raised and trained Border Collies for ten plus years and through that time, we have gained lots of experience with the handling, care and training of dogs.
I believe our experience with dogs, will be an asset to you when caring and keeping your dogs safe and happy while you are away.
We GET that your dogs are your family, and you can expect that your dogs will be pampered and treated like family with us as well!
Our location is very convenient in that we live close to the city, but still have the country feel in our neighborhood.
I currently offer doggy daycare (in addition to overnight boarding)! I’d be happy to keep your pup entertained while you’re away for the day.
*Note: I love cats and offer cat sitting as well.
I'm happy to stay at your house
or visit your dog or cat while you're away.
We welcome all dogs of every size.
