Hello! My name is Shannon and I am a full-time student at Arizona State University majoring in Biology with an emphasis on Animal Behavior and Physiology. I also work part time (about 15 hours/wk) at a dog boarding facility as a pet care specialist. I have worked there for over a year and could not be happier! I love going to work everyday and playing and loving on all kinds of dogs. Because of my time in the pet boarding/daycare industry, I have cared for dogs of all types, including rescue dogs and dogs with special needs. I am fully certified in the "Dog Gurus" training (dog language and group play) as well as pet CPR.
From January to April 2015, I was an intern at a vet hospital(through the EVIT Vet Assisting program) and was responsible for vet assisting duties. There, I administered oral medication, cared for dogs in surgery, and cared for dogs post-surgery as well. I was in the EVIT Vet Assisting program for two years and learned so much about animal behavior and animal medicine!
I have plenty of experience working and caring for all kinds of animals and I want nothing more than to make your pet comfortable while you're away! Hours will vary depending on my holiday work schedule (December 9th-January 10th), but your pet will receive more than enough care and attention and will not be alone more than 8 hours at a time.
Your dogs stay will include the comfort of their own home, long walks, fetch, and of course, plenty of snuggles!
***Unfortunately I am allergic to cats, so I cannot pet sit in homes with furry felines.
