Hello there! My name is MaKayla. I am an experienced veterinary technician looking to open my own business and starting from home seems to be the perfect solution. I am experienced with all sorts of animals, including exotics and large animals. I have owned horses, dogs, small exotics, and reptiles. I am willing to work with any and all animals and am excited to do so! Coming from a veterinary background, I have had 9 years of experience in technical duties such as administering controlled drugs, recovering pets from surgery, monitoring patients, setting catheters, blood draws, injecting medications, and much more.

Before your pet can be boarded at MaKayla’s Pet Paradise, proof of the following Vaccinations is required.
Many vaccination protocols are being changed. You should talk with your veterinarian about each disease and your pet’s yearly vaccination requirements.
Rabies vaccinations for pets are required by law. They are usually given between 4 and 6 months old. Depending on state law, boosters may be given yearly and or every 3 years. Again, be sure to follow your veterinarian’s recommendations.
Canine Distemper Vaccination
This is a composite of several diseases. Depending on the combination your Veterinarian uses, it may include some or all of the following:
• Canine hepatitis
• Corona virus
These vaccines add additional protection against coughing viruses; they are given every six months to one year depending on your Veterinarian’s recommendations.
Feline Distemper Vaccination (FVRCP)
This is also a composite vaccine, containing mostly upper respiratory diseases including Panleukopenia, Feline Viral Rhinotrachetis, and Calici Pneumonitis. PLEASE DO NOT GET YOUR CAT VACCINATED 24-48 HOURS PRIOR TO BOARDING.
Feline Leukemia Virus (FELV)
Known as a “friendly cat” disease. Saliva is the most common way cats can spread the disease: sharing food bowls and grooming each other – hence, the term “friendly cat” disease. Queens can also spread the virus to their kittens in utero, by nursing, or by grooming. Kittens under 16 weeks of age are most susceptible to catching the disease. For this reason, some people advocate vaccinating all “negative” kittens against FELV to insure their protection. Adult cats seem to have more natural resistance. (But that does NOT mean it’s ok to let your healthy cat run among the FELV positive cats!)
Like most reputable pet care facilities, MaKayla’s Pet Paradise requires proof of vaccination before your pet can board. This is not only for the protection of your pet, but also for the protection of other pets in the care of MaKayla’s Pet Paradise. Without proof of current vaccinations MaKayla’s Pet Paradise is unable to board your pet.
While you are on vacation, you plan to have fun! So as the responsible party for your pet while you are away, MaKayla’s Pet Paradise seeks to make your pet(s) stay as comfortable and fun as possible! Activities such as swimming, dog parks, and beach walks will be planned for the duration of your pet’s stay as long as a consent form is signed.
I knew how to ride and care for a horse before I could walk. It is my passion. I am offering equine services to your barn while you are on vacation. I am experienced in both English and Western riding on all different levels of horses. If you would like to know more about how I can help you and your horse, please message me for more details.
