I, Vanessa, am a teacher by training. I have had experience working with elders as well. Working with dogs is just an extension of that sort of work. I know how important my dog is to me-he is part of my family-and I will treat your dog the way you would want him/her to be treated-with integrity, with care, and with respect.
We offer a warm, caring, safe atmosphere for your dog. We will have you fill out a questionnaire about your dog before you leave him/her with us. We will assess your various needs-dog walking, occasional overnights. We would like to learn about any quirks that your animal/animals have so that we can offer the best care possible. We want your dog to feel safe at all times. We have a variety of rooms your dog will be able to go into. Your dog will be able to sleep in our room if that is what he/she is used to. Your dog doesn't have to sleep in a crate unless you want him/her to. Our goal is to make sure your dog is comfortable.
We can often accept last minute requests because we know that life can sometimes be predictable. Sometimes at the last minute, you will decide you want to go away for the weekend and dogs are welcome at the hotel. Call us. Hopefully, we can meet your needs.
Sometimes we will walk your dog in your neighborhood or our's if we are dog-sitting. But, we also love to take dogs on excursions to beautiful nature preserves or dog parks such as the new enclosed dog park in Maynard. Sometimes, we'd travel to the Weston Resevoir (Weston), Cat Rock (Weston), Callahan State Park, Rock Meadow (Belmont), the Paine Estate (Waltham), Elm Bank (Wellesley), the list goes on.
We would have a meet and greet before you ever leave your dog with us so that we make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable in our home.
If your dog has a favorite dog bed, we'd like for you to be sure to give it to us. If your dog needs to have a certain special toy to be happy, be sure to let us know.
Also, your dog doesn't have to sleep in a crate. He/she can sleep on a dog bed or on the couch.
